Which books are you most/least looking forward to a comic adaptation of?
Most looking forward to: the final battle from #34. I have a little bit of trepidation about how the art will or will not convey Aldrea ghost-possessing Cassie, but that battle has such cool visuals that I want to see them drawn. Not only do we have the super-cool Yellowstone-meets-Appalachia description of the Hork-Bajir Homeworld, but that battle sequence is one of the coolest. Jake and Rachel are in the yeerk pool as sharks, Ax and Tobias are playing keep-away with armies of controllers as andalites, Marco’s using gorilla morph to hack Aldrea’s weapons cache, Toby’s waiting in the trees to rain hell from above. And the whole time, Cassie’s jumping out of the sky as a bird while trying to become a whale with little or no human-lag in between, with the goal of emptying out an entire yeerk pool when she lands. With the right handling, that might be the coolest scene to draw of the entire series. And it’d be one that specifically translates well to comics, not to a movie or show.
Least looking forward to: pretty much anything from #39. The buffa-human running around as a naked clone of Chapman head-butting trees ALREADY haunts my nightmares; I really do not need a technicolor illustration to add to the horror.
