I got this idea for a fanfic where Jake saved Tom but he turned him into a kid by using the Blue box to protect him from the Yeerks. But I'm not getting into details on why. I'm working on chapter 1 if anyone is interested in reading it.

Would anyone be interested in an Animorphs Discord that allows NSFW content? (Unless one already exists.) I ask because the only Animorphs server I know of has banned all sexually explicit content from the entire server (before I even joined), and it would be nice to have a place to discuss NSFW fan content (even if there ends up needing to be a rule about it only being post-war, when they're adults).

Right now all I have is a single text channel and a single voice channel on my Artful Dodger Discord server where I just blurb about whatever, pretending anyone cares.

Hi! So I'm currently finishing the main animorph series. I'm on book 46 or 47. I just wanted to pop in and say, your analyses of Animorphs really warms my heart. I found these books as a third or fourth grader. I remember being so fascinated but alone in my interest. I'm 21 now.

I'm so happy that these books that mean so much to me have a fandom, and someone so dedicated to breaking down these books and talking about the content within them. Please keep up the fantastic work. (And I'm so sorry about the spam of like and reblog notifications you might get after I finish the series oh no)

Thank you! I love how many people are rediscovering Animorphs through social media. And how many times a month someone in notes will go "wait, Animorphs still has a fandom in _____ year?" and then start talking about it too. The series really did shape a whole micro-generation, I like to think for the better.

Hi, I'm the anon who was doing the Cassie PowerPoint, thanks for the points. Nobody there had ever read animorphs and 7 people have asked me for the first book so I'm counting it as a win!

I said they could ask clarifying questions at any point which was really funny because they would ask an incredulous question and my answer would just be 'yes ☺️'

Thank you for the update! The ultimate Animorphs fan experience is saying basically anything about the series and having someone who's only heard of the books go "wait, what?" And then you explain more, and they go "wait, WHAT?" And this continues indefinitely, through an ever-more-unhinged journey into "no, no, you don't understand, the murder gymnast and the nerd bird solidify their romance with giant squid cannibalism, but they started things off by turning into genderbent Knife Ent spouses to defeat their vice principal."

i had no idea people didn't like Cassie! My friends and i read the books in the early 2000s without engaging w the wider fandom at all, and Tobias was the most popular among us but we liked Cassie just fine-- she's nice, balanced out the team

Yeah, luckily we're seeing things change, but the early 2000s fandom haaaaated Cassie and the 2020s Reddit fandom unfortunately isn't that much better. I feel like I'm the rare fan who is exactly as Scholastic predicted — less interested in Tobias and Ax than in the human characters. Like, to be clear, I 100% want them to have had exactly as many books as the other four, and I love them both dearly. I just find them like 5% less interesting than Cassie and Jake/Marco/Rachel.

I saw your post about how hard things have been right now… I just want to send you support from afar, from a fellow writer with mental and physical health problems. your work is wonderful, and it brought me much-needed joy during some very tough times, when it was hard for me to make anything of my own - times when I just needed to rest and take care of myself. so I hope that during this period of time when it's hard for you to make anything, you can instead rest and take care of yourself... and that hopefully you will encounter other things that bring a little joy to your life, the way that your posts did for me. good luck getting through it all. it's rough, but it's worth it.

Thank you so much. I know I'm in a depressive episode and all, but this made me cry a lot of tears. Thank you. It's exhausting being this sick, but the Animorphs fandom has always been a wonderful and welcoming place for escape.

In case they haven’t been mentioned on this blog, I’d like to give a shoutout to Animorphs Aloud! It’s a currently still updating fan production reading through Animorphs, and they release a new chapter every few days. The narrator of it is so good at doing distinct and emotional performances for each of the cast, and I’d def recommend it for anyone that wants to reexperience Animorphs!!!

Thank you for the rec — I hadn't heard of this one! I love the fan production of the Megamorphs 1 audiobook, so I have high hopes for Animorphs Aloud being just as good.
