No, but what I meant was that say AniOmRu is written well in both the seasons, and that has nothing to do with Shivaay. Even OmYa or say RuRi (during the Ragini track) was written better than AniRi. It's not just cos of Shivaay is it?
Those were different times. It’s from Nov 2017 onwards that this ”Shivaay Zindabaad” Andolan started in the show. Till then, even though he was “hero” (post-merge), the writing used to care about the other characters and their interpersonal dynamics. It’s very distinctly from the point Abhay reveals his identity/the KM raaz (the day Shivika had their Laal Ishq) that this excessive focus on Shivaay as a hero began. Since then, no other relationships matter.
The AniOmRu in the redux cannot be considered “good writing”, because it is a pale shadow compared to what it was in the OU. In the OU, Omkara and Rudra form an independent friendship with Anika and care/fight for her multiple times, months before the forced marriage. They care for her as a person, outside of her relationship with Shivaay. In the redux, they don’t really give a fuck about her until Shivaay marries her, just standing around making sidey comments and jokes observing Shivika’s closeness. Post forced-wedding, ~~~~~suddenly~~~~~ they care for her (it actually looks super fake and unbelievable just how much they care for her in the span of minutes, within getting the phone call) and are fighting their own brother and grandmother for her. They only care for her in the capacity of “bhaabi”, which is how she’s related to them via Shivaay. He’s still the axis around which they’re forming the relationship. We stan and gush over them here because 1. the actors’ charm and chemistry really sell it, and 2. we have a nostalgia from the olden days, when we saw these characters’ relationship at the fullest and best. But if you look at it objectively, the writing for AniOmRu in the redux is just as trite as it is for AniRi.
