The most actually likely thing I can think of is that Anitam figured out some new land reclamation technology and this is going to tie in to the incentives/smoothing-the-way package to get people moving there and all (there’s alway that reluctance to go live somewhere that used to be a landfill or whatever, even when all the blues and greens are swearing up and down it’s perfectly fine now).
(Maybe they somehow ported their new cleaning expertise into this? But not my area, I don’t know if that even makes sense.)
The question is why wouldn’t they just announce that. Maybe the tech’s not quite done, or needs to pass some vetting process or something, and they don’t want all the attention yet? Maybe it’s some kind of mildly contested land no one cared about before that the blues are negotiating behind the scenes right now? But obviously they had to announce the credits now since it’s the season.
So that seems the most likely.
...Anyone know anything about potential new cleaning technologies, or contested but undesirable land Anitam might have a claim on?
