if i had a nickel for every time doctor who had a companion who was a competent, successful south asian career woman who didn't initially ever want to travel with the doctor in the first place and is around because there isn't a way to get her home, and then when she leaves it's partially because she's now a mother due to weird plot shenanigans and she fully embraces her new role even though her character has never ever expressed interest in motherhood up to this point, i'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice. and also INSANELY fucked up.
