Among the Black Waves - Anna Budanova (2016)
"a husband waits outside"
the opening line is the only part of the song where we take the perspective of the oppressor
perhaps to show us, right from the start how he is positioned outside of everything
"the gateway to the world, was still out of reach of him"
ANNA BUDANOVA /
how long have we been saying, imagine if Hozier wrote a song for me.
and now he did.
the bodies of his lovers are sacred.
the bodies of abused children are sacred.
the bodies of mothers are sacred.
the bodies of old women are sacred.
the bodies of boys and young men, caught up in the violence of the powerful, are sacred.
