• okay, i’m not... hating the ‘cuchillos is a woman’ thing as much as i thought i would, but i really wish they’d stop making her reference the fact that she’s a woman in every line

• whew chile we’re really having monse blame cesar for everything that went wrong in their relationship AGAIN huh!! even though she literally hit him and he slept with another girl after they were broken up, now she’s stringing him along huh... i’m getting so tired of her and it sucks bc i loved her in s1, but cesar is absolutely not responsible for all of their dysfunction

• ^ also this is my problem with cuchillos being a woman— s1 and s2 establish a culture where women’s anger and violence aren’t taken seriously, and s3 is trying to reverse that and it’s just not working at all for me. that scene in ep1 where monse jumps cesar is funny, and pants-pissingly funny to the santos, because he’s getting beat up by a girl. the joke is that it’s emasculating. now in s3, we’re supposed to take a female authority figure seriously and find her a credible danger? then monse shoving cesar should also be taken seriously. that shit’s not cute

• i KNEW monty was a prophet. like... i been knew. i called that shit.

• the dad plotline... hoo boy. i didn’t make any text poasts abt that bc i’ve just... been in shock that they actually brought him back, and i feel like it’s kind of a monkey’s paw situation, because i’ve been whining for two seasons straight about how we need more exploration of the diaz boys’ family life— but this is such a huge bombshell to drop idk how they’re gonna make it work, especially with just eight episodes. does oscar lay him out??? do they have a lot of really uncomfortable family meals???
