how would the ATP cast + townsend/anna/washington react if the ATP reader had minor amnesia from an accident and forgot who everyone except themselves was? What about when she remembered some after some time?

Reader: At first she would probably think everyone is certifiably insane when they tell her she’s in the past. I can kinda see her thinking she’s at some sort of reenactment where the actors take themselves way too seriously. I don’t think she would trust any of them, especially since you know they’re not going to let her leave so she would probably escape from camp at some point. Her leaving camp in that state of mind wouldn’t be the smartest move, in camp she’s got the group to keep her safe and out of trouble. Now, if she’s in NYC when she forgets everything, you can add panic and confusion on top of not believing where/when she is. Think of the scene in Captain America: The First Avenger, where Steve Rogers is in the middle of Times Square after he first wakes up. It’ll probably look a lot like that.

Ben: This poor boy. I don’t think there’s a word to describe how worried and stressed out he would be. Is this permanent? Is there something he can do to help her remember them? I think it would be hard for him to let her out of his sight, I think he feels responsible for her. He would definitely have to try to find a balance between him wanting to keep her safe and smothering her.  

Caleb: He hasn’t known her as long as the others, so it may not hit him as bad. I think he would go along with whatever Ben has planned for her. Does Ben need someone to keep an eye on her? Caleb’s your guy. Now, while he’ll go along with whatever care plan Ben comes up with, I don’t think Caleb will baby her like Ben might. He would probably be the one to convince Ben to ease up and let her rediscover things on her own.

Lafayette: He might rival Ben in his need to take care of her. I think it might be like how I wrote in the death reaction pt 2, he would try to take over taking for her.

Alex: He would be trying his best not to panic, I also feel like he would try getting his hands on any information he can about her condition and then overwhelm everyone with that information. He’d probably have her entire treatment plan mapped out.

Laurens: I feel he would probably be the only one in the immediate group not to baby her. He seems like a very “Oh, you’re hurt? Rub some dirt on it and walk it off” type person.

Washington: He would want to be kept up to date on her condition and what’s being done for her. I don’t think her having amnesia would effect too much.

Townsend: If this happens when she’s in NYC, Robert is gonna feel so out of his comfort zone trying to care for her and he’s probably going to think she’s insane if she starts talking about being from the future. I feel like he would reach out to the ring and ask them to get her out of the city as soon as possible, not only for her safety but his as well.

Anna: Honestly, I’m not sure how Anna would react since I haven’t really decided on their relationship. I feel like she might help taking care of her, mostly for Ben’s sake though. Her reaction would also depend on how the reader was hurt. I can’t even remember seeing her reaction to Caleb being tortured and that’s suppose to be one of her closest friends.

ATP Drabble: Reaction to her death pt 2

Warnings: Implied nudity, references to torture/starvation (nothing in detail, just mentions). I think that’s it, if you see anything else that needs a warning, please let me know!

A/N: I am so sorry this took longer than expected to post. I probably could’ve had a few days sooner, but I was having trouble nailing down Alex & John’s reaction. Since I’m having such problems with their parts, I’ve decided to post what I have and possibly post an addition to it if/when I do figure out how those two would react.

Series Masterlist | Part 1

Ben and Caleb were shocked at your appearance, it was clear your time on the Jersey and whatever else you had encountered afterwards had not been kind. They almost didn’t believe it was truly you sitting in front of them, but who else could possess such a smart ass mouth when faced when surrounded by two armed guards?

You were significantly thinner than the last time they had seen you, the tattered men’s clothing that was several sizes too large for you did little to hide the evidence of starvation. To say that you looked tired would be underestimating the severity of the situation, in the eyes of the three people standing in front of you, you looked the walking dead. How you had made it from York City to sitting in front of them was beyond their comprehension.

“Fetch the doctor,” Ben ordered the guard, who nodded in response and left you sitting with the trio. “What happened to you out there? Last we heard you were dead.”

“What can I say except that the news of my death has been greatly exaggerated.” You joked.

“This is not the time to make jokes, [Y/N]. This is serious, the last we heard you had died on the Jersey. I...we mourned you and then you show up months later only to make light of the situation.” Ben

“Ben, don’t be cruel. Look at her, she’s obviously been through enough without you being an ass.” Anna chastises Ben as she takes the shawl off her shoulders and places it on yours.

“Yea, Ben. Don’t be an ass, I’m a delicate flower now.” You laughed, a smile gracing your cracked lips.

“Dove, what happened out there? How did you get off that cursed ship?” Caleb asked

You took a moment before answering Caleb, not making eye contact with anyone. “I did what I had to.” They looked at one another, unsure how they should interpret that. You had never shied away from details of the things you had done in the past, but the tone in your voice told them that now was not the time to discuss the topic.

Ben kneels in front of you, resting his hand against your cheek, “It’s going to be alright, you’re safe now.” They all knew that they should’ve alerted Washington and the others to your appearance in camp, but each of them knew you were in no shape to handle the thousands of questions that everyone was going to be throwing at you.

The doctor didn’t tell you anything you didn’t already know, basically telling them a fancier version of “a few good meals along with some rest and she’ll be good as new.” To be honest, all you wanted to do was take a hot shower (god, how you missed showers) and to sleep in a real bed.

After the examination from the doctor, Ben decided it was time to tell Washington and the others about your miraculous return from the dead while Anna helped you wash up and Caleb tried to find you something to eat.

Anna recalled seeing you briefly in York City when she learned of Arnold’s betrayal, she remembers seeing you leaving Major Andre’s home before Abigail told her what she and Cicero had learned, the woman in front of her looked very different from the beautiful woman in a fine gown she saw that day. As she watches you undressing, she sees the evidence of the hardships that last few months had dealt, she can’t help but wonder if this what Selah looked like when he was released from the Jersey. How long did it take Selah to recover, would it take you as long to recover? He looked healthy when she first saw him at the Battle of Setauket and he recovered enough to enlist and eventually go on to join Congress. You were back with people who cared for you, surely your road to recovery was full of promise.

Caleb had to refrain himself from picking you up and hugging you tightly when he first realized it was you sitting in that shack. He couldn’t help but to see how frail you looked, of course he knew about the horror stories of the Jersey but seeing them again up close made his blood boil. You calmed him down in a way that only you could, with your sense of humor. After his run in with Simcoe, he couldn’t remember the last time he actually laughed but you brought some laughter back into his life when you told him that any tales of mermaids coming ashore was probably about you since you gave a few young men walking near the beach a show when you came out of the water nearly naked.

After the initial shock of seeing you show up in camp, Ben wasn’t sure if he had ever felt this level of relief before. Ben was relieved on a personal level that you were alive and in the safety of the camp. The head of intelligence side of Ben was relieved that one of his assets was alive and all the members of the ring were safe, even though he was torn on whether or not to tell Abe and Townsend that you were alive and safe. It pained him to leave you, even briefly while he updated the others on what was going on, there was still a part of him that refused to believe you were actually in camp and that this was all a cruel dream. Ben knew all too well what those dreams were like, he had been plagued by them since he received Townsend’s report only to wake up alone in his bed.

It took Alexander and John to convince Lafayette to give you some space and not to overwhelm you. Since the day he learned you were imprisoned he was wracked with guilt, looking back he wishes that he hadn’t spent those last few days with you arguing about going on the damn mission. He felt like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders when Ben informed the group that you were alive and safe in camp. Since he wasn’t able to be at your side he began making arrangements to have you moved into his quarters, his argument being that you would recover better in the safety of a home better than some tent in the middle of the camp. It may have been the guilt talking, but he promised that he was going to whatever he needed to make sure you were safe and to make sure that you knew the things he said during your argument were only said out of anger and not his true feelings. He was going to do whatever it took to make it up to you.

A/N: I am so sorry 🙈 this did not go in the direction I wanted it to. I really tried, but my stupid brain said nope. Anyway, this turned into an Anna x fem!reader, I hope that makes up for what you’re about to read. 😬

You had been awake for awhile now, a small smile on your face as you watched Anna sleeping. The feeling of her soft skin against yours and her legs tangled with yours, it made you feel like your heart was going to burst out of happiness and break out of sadness all at once. But even with your conflicting emotions, all you wanted to do was lie there beside her for the rest of your life and pretend the world outside your bedroom door didn’t exist.

The two of you had been inseparable growing up, but soon life and it’s responsibilities and expectations pulled you away from each other.  That was until the universe brought you back together, and soon it felt like you became each other’s foundations. Anna was there holding your hand, as you buried your husband and child. You comforted her when they dragged Selah off to the Jersey, your home became hers after they nailed the bill of attainder to her front door. You held her together after she thought Selah died on that prison ship. She stood by your side as you felt your heart being ripped out of your chest watching Selah walk up to her and kiss her when Ben and his men invaded during the Battle of Setauket. You watched helplessly as she boarded a boat with after the the battle, and it took everything in you not to jump in the water and swim out to her after Anna jumped off the boat. The two you were only able to finally comfort each other behind the closed doors of your home.

You always knew the little world the two of had created for yourselves was never meant to last, but you convinced yourselves that you could make it last at least until the end of the war. That was until your parents decided it was time for you to remarry, they claimed that they wanted you to marry because they didn’t feel safe having you, a young woman, alone in your home with a war going on. But you knew the truth, you were a young widow with money and land and your parents looked to increase their wealth and standing. It destroyed you when you told Anna and saw how broken she looked and knowing there was nothing you could do to fix her since you were just was as broken as she was.

Now here you were, the day before your wedding, spending the morning in bed in the arms of the woman you loved wishing you could freeze time. You pulled Anna closer to you, pressing a kiss on her forehead, trying your best to hold back your tears. Anna slowly opens her eyes as you softly push a lock of her dark hair off of her face.

“Please don’t cry, [Y/N]. If this is truly going to be our last day together, I won’t have you spending it in tears.” Anna said with a small smile as she wiped a tear away from your eye.

“Annie, I know that tomorrow I’m set to marry some stranger my parents have chosen for me, but I want you to know that you’ll always be my one and only. I will never love him, or anyone else, as much I love you.” You hold Anna tightly against you as you softly kiss her lips. The two of spend the rest of the morning in each other’s arms, hoping to delay tomorrow’s arrival for as long as possible.

Another city, another show. It was becoming increasingly more difficult being on tour all the time. There used to be a time in your life when you used to love being on the road all the time, you found something liberating about living out of a suitcase and playing your music for people all over the world. You had sacrificed so much to get to this point, a point where you could actually consider yourself successful and your family members had stopped telling you to get a real job. If this was your dream life, then why did it hurt so much each time you announced new tour dates?

You sat alone on the bed in some nameless generic hotel room in a city that might as well be light-years away from home, staring at your laptop waiting for Anna to answer your Facetime call. You checked the time on your cell phone, mentally figuring out what time it must be at home. No answer. You shut your laptop, still clutching onto your phone in the hope that maybe she’ll still call you before you fall asleep. As you start to feel your eyelids getting heavier, you try sending her a text message.

I miss you.

The next morning, your manager wakes you up early, rambling on about a bunch of interviews that you need to get through before tonight’s show. You can feel your anxiety starting to bubble up as he talks about adding more shows, extending the tour by at least another month. You look down at your phone, hoping to see something from Anna, a text message or a missed call, any sign that she tried to reach out to you. No new messages.

“Yea, that sounds good to me. Make it happen.” You answer with a fake smile on your face. The last thing you wanted to do was to add more shows to the tour, but looking at your manager’s face, you just couldn’t find the courage to say no.

The next few days start to blur together, you stopped noticing where one ended and another began, not that it really mattered since each day consisted of the same shit just in a different city. You started to feel lonely despite rarely ever being alone, but even with everyone’s good intentions you couldn’t help but feel isolated and used. There was a voice in your head telling you that everyone around you wanted something from you, whether it was money, fame, or whatever, you were just a means to an end. It wasn’t helping that you and Anna continued to miss one another, it became an endless game of phone tag that you were so sick of playing. You were tired of the boring hotel rooms, and tired of checking your phone every five seconds looking for any sign from Anna to pop up.

You once again found yourself sitting alone in yet another hotel room, at least this time occasion seemed a little better since you were actually talking to Anna. You were in bed, staring at the ceiling with the little white earbuds in, you were quiet as you listened to her talking about her day and everything you had missed back home. She rambled on about the latest shenanigans that Caleb and Ben tried to pull her into, and her trying her best to talk some sense into them. You smiled as you continued to listen to her talk, her voice made you feel safe and calm, like a safe harbor in the midst of the storm that was raging on inside your head.

“[Y/N]? Are you still there?”

“Yea, I’m still here.”

“You haven’t said anything in awhile. I’m annoying you, aren’t I?” You could hear the insecurity in her voice, being away from home this long was never easy on either of you.

“Hey, listen to me Annie, talking to you is the best part of my day. Whenever I hear your voice, I know I’m not alone in a world full of vampires.”

“God, you are so dramatic.” You could practically hear her rolling her eyes on the other end of the phone.

“Hey now, my dramatic nature pays the bills,” you joke. “Finish your story, what happened with Ben & Caleb?”

Anna continues telling her story until she hears the soft mumbling of you talking in your sleep. She hits the End Call button and decides to send you a quick text before heading to bed.

“How’s our girl?” Selah asks, looking up from his book at Anna as she crawls into bed next to him.
