I got tagged by the crazy curlock-holmes (sorry I'm very late!)
Always post the rules Answer the questions the person who tagged you asked and write 11 new ones Tag 11 people and link them to the post Actually tell them you tagged them! My Answers:
1) Baths or showers?
I normally have to wash in the morning because I can never be bothered in the evening. So definitely shower.
2) Favourite book quote and why?
I everyone knows it and stuff, but I really like Dumbledore's "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light." from the Prisoner of Azkaban. It's just a something that I should probably remember to do more.
3) The last thing you were proud of?
Ohh hard one. I guess getting an offer for Maths at Cambridge Uni- that was pretty exciting!
4) The last compliment you received/thing someone said that made you smile, and why it made you smile?
I got this new hat for Christmas that is basically a sheep (it's made of wool and everything). I got quite a few complimants when I wore that to college, though I think that was definitly more the hats doing than mine.
5) Which fictional character would you most like to spend a day with, and what would you do?
After thinking about this for a few minutes: Susan Bones (Death's granddaughter) from Terry Pratchett's Discword books would be entertaining. I mean she can stop time and all sorts, so we'd be wandering around and everyone else would stay still- bit weird but would also be very cool. And she's a very practical character, seeing her deal with a situation would be a whole lesson in of itself.
Also the Doctor. I don't think that needs any explaining.
6) The last present you gave/received and what was the occasion?
Well, Christmas was only a few weeks ago...
I can't remember which I opened last, so I'll just go with one of my favourites- which I think was the many mathsy books I recieved (see question 3). Really looking forward to reading them all! And for giving: I was really proud of myself for spotting a set of beautiful plates in a charity shop that I gave to my mum for Christmas, they're exactly what she wanted (I think!).
7) Three words or phrase that you HATE saying or hearing?
Ohh, going to have to think here:
1. "It's not that high/scary!" This mainly comes from my sister and mum who aren't scared of heights at all and seem to think I'm a wimp for being scared of heights, I mean what if the rope snaps or the tree falls down or something!
2. "It's not that hard to just work." Alright, I find it really hard to just sit and start working efficiently (like now for instance) so I'll just procrastinate for a while. Some members of my family don't find this a problem at all, and such don't see why I make such a fuss about it. Working is hard!
3. And finally, I've saved the best till last: "Road tax". IT'S NOT CALLED ROAD TAX! IT'S CALLED VEHICLE EXCISE DUTY and its completely based on your vehicle's emissions. Bikes don't give out harmful emissions, hence no vehicle excise duty. There are cars that don't pay VED. Roads and road mantinance are completely paid for out council/government taxes.
8) What is your phone/computer wallpaper/screensaver right now?
My phone screensaver is an editied picture of flowers that I took a while back. It's really pretty with lots of pink and green. WIsh picnik was still around...
9) What is your favourite Sherlock episode and why?
I guess it would have to be "The Great Game". I just love the way it all linked together and everything. It's so complex. To be honest all the episodes are brilliant, but I was only allowed to choose one :(
10) When was the last time you did something spontaneous, and what was it?
I spontaneously missed my train to Cambridge, that was more of an accident to be honest :P
Last actual spontaneous thing was probably on results day (a while back, I'm not very spontaneous) when I was planning to just collect my results, see my friends, and then just go home. I ended up staying till 11pm at my friends house, just chatting the whole day. This was after we went into town and picked my friend some new glasses.
11) If you could steal one object/item of clothing from a fictional character, what would it be and why?
I don't know if this counts but Hermione's bag would definitely be good. I'm really bad at packing light (especially for college) so this would be brilliant.
If you're after actual clothing then Harry's invisibility clock would be great, again for obvious reasons.
My Questions:
1) What's your favourite book and why?
2) What's the last post that made you smile? Link it here :)
3) Best thing that you learnt recently.
4) Just because it's really interesting- favourite quote and why?
5) If you had to only grab 3 things from your burning house what would they be?
6) Which fictional universe would you love to live in, and why?
7) What book are you reading now? (and would you recommend it?)
8) Marmite: love or hate?
9) What's one thing that you really want to do before you die?
10) Are you a morning or evening person?
11) Which other language did you have to learn at school?
There you go!
