i 100% relate, tlj changed everything for me. i hated the movie, and i hate it even more now, but now it became clear it's not only my sentiment- a huge part of the fandom thinks the same. speculation is dead, people don't make gifsets or engage in discourse. the fandom was so active after tfa and ro, and it all went away. it's kind of amazing. i love 'rebels', but it couldn't keep my love for star wars alive for long. i mean, i will never stop being bitter tlj,  even though i have some hopes for ep ix. it's just.... lmao tlj ruined everything

Exactly! I remember reading your thoughts about it when it came out and I felt less alone seeing that we basically shared not only our opinions but also our sudden stop in making edits about it lmao what i hate the most about this situation is that this kind of critics, who were and still are logic, articulate, based on solid evidence, got mixed with the usual whining of racist dude bros and whatnot so the part of the fandom who lives at k*** r**’s feet and usually only cares for him and their ship was very quick to label them all under useless complaining saying bs like ‘characters change’, yeah no shit janet but not in the span of a week, only for the worse and especially not compromising everything they stood for until that very moment without a reason. Not to talk about everything wrong with sidestepping Finn like that. So yeah, I don’t even know if I wanna go watch episode ix, with how things ended is gonna be real difficult saving something from this mess. For once in my life I’m glad for the backleash.
