"It felt like such a small thing. Claire [Scanlon], our director, when she called up to offer it, she said, "Just so you know there's like a little connection here." And I mentioned it to Dais that evening — she was away filming — so I said, "You know there's this thing..." And she just said, "Oh yeah, I heard about that," but we didn't think it was a big thing until we were in Montreal shooting and I was made aware that it's a bigger deal than I thought it was. But she thought it was great. She basically said, "Anything that gets people reading." And also those characters are so beautiful in Star Wars, of course they're going to inspire other people to write things around those sorts of characters. And it's why I was was drawn to playing the role. Obviously it's based on such a brilliant character that's so loved. To play a sort of shade of that, of course I was attracted to it as an actor."
