Miss June Launch North American Tour on Monday at Rough Trade NYC
Miss June—vocalist Annabel Liddell, bassist Chris Marshall, guitarist Jun Park and drummer Tom Leggett—have “built a reputation for fierce, formidable and head-spinning live shows which have caught the attention of acts like the Foo Fighters, Shellac, Wolf Alice, Idles and Die! Die! Die!, who have all eagerly harnessed their support onstage,” according to the New Zealand Music Commission. And last month, the Auckland, New Zealand, raw and raucous pop-punk quartet’s debut full-length, Bad Luck Party (stream it here), arrived on Frenchkiss Records. “In a scene that has become glossed with pop-punk over the likes of punk or rock, this album will tear the limbs from anyone who dares to claim that ‘punk is dead.’ The angst in this release is pungent, and it will not think twice about infiltrating the brains of those who advocate for the stagnancy of punk rock,” claims Down the Front Media. “Not only are Miss June restyling the punk scene, they’re redefining it.” Following shows in New Zealand, Australia and Europe, Miss June launch the North American leg of their world tour on Monday night at Rough Trade NYC.
