Tissaia usually detested being in court, finding the whole ordeal of listening to pompous windbags pleading for a tax break here, or an influence from the Duchess there, to be utterly boring.

Nevertheless, she always made an appearance, if only for the chance to see her young lover rule with a grace not attained by any other woman on the Continent, save for Cirilla, of course. But her goddaughter was born to rule, while Annarietta had been chosen to rule.

When court came to a close, Tissaia remained back, watching as Dukes and Viscounts left, some with smiles on their faces, others looking defeated. When the room finally cleared, the brunette turned her gaze to the blonde at the center of the room, the way her elegance shone through the facade she had to wear for court, the way her dress clung to her figure in layers of ruffles and satin... She always did enjoy peeling back layer after layer to find the breathtaking woman underneath.

Annarietta saw her and smiled, lifting the hem of her dress so she could approach Tissaia, stopping just before the brunette before leaning in, her arms instinctively wrapping around Tissaia's waist as she pressed her silken soft lips against Tissaia's own.

"You stayed." She breathed, a smirk tugging at her lips as she gazed into Tissaia's eyes.

"Of course I did, my darling." Tissaia replied with a smile, gently cupping Annarietta's cheeks. "I would never miss an opportunity to see you shine, my dear."

Annarietta beamed at the compliment, a glimmer in her eyes as she gazed at Tissaia before pressing another soft peck to her lips.

"Shall we retire for the evening, my love?" She questioned, gazing at Tissaia through her lashes, a look that always made Tissaia flush.

"If that is what you desire, my Duchess, then we shall." Tissaia replied with a smile, her cheeks tinted pink as she looped her arm through Annarietta's, leading the young woman from the throne room and towards their chambers.

Honestly, who else could have I put for this card? I wanted to only draw canon characters from the books, and even if she’s in some of those, we don’t have much of Anna Henrietta apart from the DLC ‘Blood and Wine’. Still, she’s a canon character and she fitted the role perfectly. I really wanted to bring up a lavish, very classy ambience that’s so much Toussaint.
