I’m drinking a shot of tequila to Anne Beatts tonight. She knew how to rip comedy out of life and take no prisoners doing it. She didn’t just pave the way for so many other women she knocked the door down. “Square Pegs” preceded “Clarissa Explains it All” by 9 years and most certainly made even the concept of my series more possible. Her comedy was smart and deep. She had a bigger view.
