wood paneling haunts my dreams...and my waking life. there's still wood paneling at my childhood house... it's just got a particular vibe to it, and it sort of makes any room in the house dark and difficult to get some sense of light into. it's always clearly not wood though its made to resemble it. I wonder what things we'll look at in 30 years and go...well that's tacky as hell what were we thinking? this combined with that puke yellowy carpet are the creme de la creme of this particular era of interior decorating. iconic. horrific. I know I never saw any of it when it was new, and perhaps it was more appealing at that time. this stuff is so ephemeral. everything in style is going to be wood paneling eventually, so it goes to show how unimportant trends really end up being. we all sort of laugh at each other about our taste eventually, do just do what you wanna do.
how the hell do you pronounce rural without sounding like a hick? I haven't figured it out yet.
