…I didn’t know Leon and Hop are Laventon’s descendants oh my gosh. But I’m bad at this whole guess-the-descendant game ( it took me YEARS to figure out that Melli can’t be related to James and/or Jessie from team rocket).
ANYWAY this newfound knowledge brought me an immense amount of joy because in my mind something like this is now absolutely possible:

"You know, ever since you mentioned that Professor Laventon and Captain Cyllene are a married couple in this universe, I'm just picturing this endearing mental image of them stroking each other's faces in private, and she actually lowers her walls enough to let him stroke her eyebrows (or, you know, the parts of her face where she would have eyebrows). Which leads me onto my next question...
When exactly did Laventon and Cyllene first meet and fall in love? And has she ever seen him with his hat off?"
It's stated by Professor Laventon early on into Legends: Arceus that Jubilife Village was constructed two years prior to the plot. However, in Sisterhood's universe, the settlement has been present for longer since Volo was sent to the Ginkgo Guild shortly after turning thirteen and has only recently reached the age of nineteen when the events of the game have begun.
Professor Laventon arrived in Hisui about three and a half years prior, Cyllene four, and the couple have been married for almost two. In this time period, villagers will wed rather swiftly after entering a courtship, albeit not as swiftly as members of the Diamond Clan.
It wasn't quite love at first sight, but Cyllene managed to earn his admiration shortly following their introduction. He found his attention repeatedly being taken away from his work by that serious expression she wears when tending to her own - always diligent in what she does! Their offices are situated next to one another's, and sometimes her gaze would shift from the papers in front of her towards the doorway, where she found him peering curiously at her.
The first few instances this occurred, the captain inquired if there happened to be something he needed assistance with, to which he would reply, in a somewhat flustered manner, that he was simply checking in on her is all, and should she happen to need anything, then she shouldn't hesitate to call on him!
She'd offer a single nod of the head in acknowledgement before returning her focus to the apparently perpetual pile of paperwork which surrounded her. After a few weeks of this behavior, however, Cyllene decided to question him about it. She caught him staring at her from their shared doorway approximately fifty-eight times in total (sixty-three if she included the occasions where the two of them were outside the Galaxy HQ building) and asked just what about her was so fascinating to him that he felt the need to do so.
And Professor Laventon proceeded to inform Cyllene of precisely what he believed to be so compelling about her! He never meant to stare as intensely as he did, and so often at that (a part of him was oddly chuffed she kept track of each instance), yet he couldn't help but find himself captivated her demeanor, how dedicated she was to their cause! After nearly three minutes of his rambling, she at last regained enough of her wits to raise a single hand to signal he could cease explaining himself.
The expression Cyllene wore in that moment was as stern as ever, but her cheeks were unmistakably pink as a Clefairy! Though regarded by most as an imposing woman, Professor Laventon truly believed her to be as precious as one - particularly when her cheeks were stuffed with potato mochi. He told her this one evening and received a glare in response. Once she finished choking, that is.
But what ultimately brought the two together was when he stumbled upon the captain's severe phobia of Bug-type Pokémon. That fateful day he was startled awake from a nap he didn't mean to take by the sound of Cyllene screaming. Absolutely terrified (but not for himself), he raced into her office to discover a Combee had somehow found its way inside. The Tiny Bee Pokémon buzzed about the room frantically, frightened by Cyllene's screeching. The gusts of wind from its wings scattered those stacks of paper in every direction, and Cyllene herself had sought refuge underneath her desk.
Enamorus must have been smiling upon him, because while his aim when throwing Poké Balls was usually mediocre at best, after a few attempts, Professor Laventon succeeded in capturing the Combee! Cyllene emerged from hiding as soon as she heard the click of the Poké Ball and immediately threw her arms around him in gratitude, even buried her face into his shoulder which was accompanied by a sigh of relief as the last of the shudders left her system.
And once they had, embarrassment and shame began to rise from deep within her. She's Captain Cyllene of the Survey Corps - she isn't supposed to show any signs of weakness, especially fear! And it just had to be Professor Laventon, of all people, to witness her in such a disgraceful state! Surely, he's less impressed with her now that he's aware of her phobia, she thought.
In the midst of her frustration, Cyllene accidentally expressed those thoughts aloud, to her further mortification. But Professor Laventon offered her a gentle smile and stated none of that is true. He told her he didn't think less of her in the slightest for visibly experiencing fear, and anyone who would is a fool. She's still their dutiful captain even if she happened to have an aversion to Bug-type Pokémon!
The two were wed within the year.
After Cyllene acquired her Abra and the Psi Pokémon accepted the responsibility of removing any Bug-types that wander into her space, he did sulk just a bit about it, having hoped to impress her again with his Bug Catching prowess.
But from that moment onward, whenever she noticed him staring at her again, her features would soften and occasionally she gave him a little wave before returning to her work. And Professor Laventon felt extremely inspired afterward! Even now, nothing else motivates him more than a smile from Cyllene!
One of the reasons Professor Laventon latches onto Akari as swiftly as he does is due to how similar the younger woman's demeanor is to that of his wife's! He understands entirely why Volo is so drawn to her; it's apparent to him he's a man of culture as well!
And yes, Cyllene has seen Professor Laventon without his hat several times as a matter of fact. His ears are sensitive to Hisui's cold though, so he always wears it when outdoors.

🤎 As stated above, in Sisterhood's universe, the two met about three and a half years prior to the main game events of Legends: Arceus. Additionally, Rei arrived in Hisui from Kitakami only a little over a year beforehand! But he's lived in Jubilife Village long enough by the beginning of the plot to not be branded an outsider by the more... wary as well as territorial inhabitants.
Rei finds Professor Laventon and Cyllene to be a rather odd couple. The former is so jolly and outgoing! And the latter so stoic and reserved... But they truly must love one another, he realized, after accidentally walking in on the couple sharing a tender moment - Cyllene stroking her husband's face and leaning in for a kiss. She then took notice of Rei standing there awkwardly, averting his gaze with reddened cheeks, and the Captain of the Survey Corps leapt backwards at least halfway across the room. Professor Laventon did pout a bit over this.
🤎 Weddings within Jubilife Village were ultimately brief and devoid of fanfare despite two of their own joining in marriage certainly being a cause for celebration. Commander Kamado asserted there was far too much work to be done to dedicate an entire day or even half of one to a ceremony - this was not done out of callousness, he voluntarily took on the role of their officiant and shed tears during the couple's exchanging of vows, but at this point in time, combating the difficulties of life in Hisui as effectively as possible took precedence. There was simply no space for much merriment.
The Harmony Festival which takes place at the conclusion of the main game's plot is only capable of occurring due to Akari's contributions and the respective conflicts between the Diamond Clan, the Pearl Clan, and Jubilife Village reaching a resolution. Together, they manage to swiftly arrange a celebration that lasts all evening and hours into the night.
But these weddings would last merely half an hour at maximum, and Professor Laventon's and Cyllene's was no exception. They wore no special attire for the occasion, there was no reception afterwards and thus no dancing or feasting, and the sole reason the groom had a ring to place on the bride's finger is because it was a keepsake from his dearly departed mother. Nevertheless, everyone present believed Cyllene's smile throughout was absolutely radiant.
🤎 Professor Laventon and Cyllene remain in Jubilife Village. The former isn't content to rest on his laurels once Hisui's Pokédex is at last complete, and his research resumes with Cyllene's and Rei's support. Copies of the Pokédex are also distributed to the people of the region shortly thereafter.
Some of the residents of Jubilife Village, however, have lost faith in their commander's ability to lead them following his handling of the calamity earlier, unfairly banishing Akari who they now regard as their savior (despite not a soul among them having dared to openly protest Kamado's decision).
Therefore, Kamado feels he must step down from his position and dedicate himself to the further research of Pokémon as penance, passing the title of commander to Cyllene who then passes on her title of Captain of the Survey Corps to Rei (up until Lady Sneasler selects him as her new Warden after Ingo recovers his memory and departs for home alongside Akari + Volo).
Kamado initially extends it to Akari instead, but she rejects him, refusing to abandon returning to her world and the position of power she holds there: the Champion of Sinnoh.
Cyllene maintains an impassive demeanor when the moment arrives, but once Akari has left Hisui behind, she cries to her husband later in the night, regretting how she refrained from expressing her fondness for Akari, wondering if she was aware of the depths of her admiration. Professor Laventon gently assures her Akari did know.
