Opossum

Had a visitor to my parent’s house last Friday. This opossum climbed up into the birdfeeder, then went for the suet. After he finished, he went back to the bird feeder and slept in the sun for a little while.

mikeharrisonfossils I found this little piece of nodule sticking put the mud on Charmouth beach after our coast was battered by waves, courtesy of storm Elaenor. Although the preservation is absolutely perfect, it is very much incomplete as only part of the fish has become nodulised. The missing part would be lying in shale, and as this is from a very old and mixed up landslide, I reckon I'd be more likely to win big on the lottery than find any more of it! You may notice it's not actually lying flat, this is because a squashed ammonite is lying above it and the fish has taken on the ammonites contours.
