Annisquam Lighthouse with oil house, Cape Ann Massachusetts
Annisquam Harbor Lighthouse
Annisquam Harbor Lighthouse is located on Wigwam Point in the quaint New England village of Annisquam, a small neighborhood of Gloucester, Massachusetts. It overlooks the Annisquam River and provides navigational aid for ships entering the river and the nearby Gloucester Harbor. The beacon is somewhat difficult to find and parking is very limited and strictly enforced during the summer season.…

2020 Best of New England Fine Art Photography
2020 is coming to an end and it has been a year like no other. Travel restrictions due to the Covid 19 pandemic did not allow much traveling throughout New England. So, it’s time to reflect on another year of exploring New England colors and scenery through my fine art photography lens. During spring I chased mostly waterfalls and lighthouses while fall provided stunning colors and subjects…

Annisquam Light, Gloucester, Mass. 1904 Silver gelatin glass transparency Published by: Detroit Publishing Co. Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division, Washington, D.C.
This is one of the Lighthouse's on Cape Ann. The family made a trip to Gloucester, Mass for Memorial weekend and took the boat trip to see all of the lighthouses of Cape Ann. It was difficult to see them well from the boat, but it was fun even if freezing!! Very hearty people were out sailing that day. The painting is a watercolor. JoAnn
I have never been to Boston, Massachusetts but as it is a very important city in America’s History, I thought the best way to explore the sites was on foot via the Freedom Trail.
The Freedom Trail is a 2.5 mile trek through downtown Boston that guides you past 16 locations of significance.
Here are some of my stops from the day:
Later that evening, when my friend X-Racer was done with work, we checked out a restaurant that I had researched… Craigie on Main.
Bone Marrow
I’m pretty much in love with this restaurant, and would come back to Boston JUST to eat here. This is what I had…Sea urchin, cod in squid ink, yellow fin tuna sashimi with watermelon radish and Saba; salmon with raisins, pine-nuts, shrimp and clams; long island cheese pumpkin soup with two cheese pork belly grilled cheese; wildflower shell pasta with porcine; sweetbread (balls) with candied walnuts, dried pear and mushroom; venison two ways, roasted bone marrow w/ fleur de sol, green apple celery sorbet. Ridiculous. Thank you Boston.
After I had my fill (literally and figuratively) of Beantown, my friend and I decided to drive a bit up the Coast of New England. Here is a beautiful lighthouse we found along the way…

Since it was so close to Halloween and I realized we were so close, my friend and I decided to also head up to Salem to see what was going on there. Salem, famous for the Salem witch trials apparently spends several weeks in October celebrating Halloween. The whole town was abuzz in festivities and we took a Salem ghost tour which was pretty fun.
Salem Pre-Halloween Festivities
Now I’m off to spend some time in New York, another East coast city that I have yet had a chance to explore :)
