Continuing to work on improving my portrait drawing skills.

This time with my favorite personal OC, Jaiden Goldson.

Jaiden is a 1000 year old vampire protagonist from my "Anomalous" RP Universe...and the base character that I like to translate into pretty much every roleplay world I play in heh.

Even my BG3 character, Ariat, stems from this guy.

Oh! I also finally got the eye reflection to look right! I've tried to draw this guy several times in this same way and always felt like I was missing it somehow, but this time it looks right!

For a long time now I've just been so disappointed with my art. It's just been feeling so lackluster and boring even if it's good in a technical sense, it just felt bleh to me. Like all the spirit was out of it.

I just wanted really badly to try and revisit my old traditional style in digital media and I kind of angrily went at an empty canvas with just plane old black paintbrush.

I am in love with how it turned out and it's just a huge breath of fresh air as an increasingly disabled artist who has been losing their ability to draw the way they're used to to see art and have this feeling of "There you are! Where have you been! I missed you."

An old OC of mine and namesake lol, Jaiden Goldson.

A thousand year old vampire who's primary job is lead singer in a band called "Tarnished Gold". He's also a primary protagonist in the Urban Fantasy novel/setting I've been working on with my husband for the past decade or so, called Anomalous.

Another go at digital lineart though I’m not sure how many I’ll do as they are pretty strenuous for me as well as time consuming. Plus I do plan on coloring them eventually as well.

I’ve never drawn this character before, especially since they were redesigned, but this is Drake Rudiger, a vampire OC from Anomalous that belongs to my husband.

Inktober 2017

Decided to try putting some effort into this this year heh. No promises on actually being able to complete it but…why not. So I decided to use a guide this time. I’m gonna use the Urban Fantasy guide but use elements from our own personal urban fantasy. “Anomalous” 

Most of the characters in Anomalous can fit into multiple categories but for the sake of avoiding repeats I’m only going to be using those who fit into each based on classic character tropes.

Bartender and former(?) vigilante killer, Dorian’s methods are often brutal and unforgiving. His surly demeanor and bad temper are matched only by his selfless determination to defend the innocent.
