I didn't like the ending of endgame cause I'm kind of used to the happy ending "we won, let's go eat shwarma" the previous movies and the TV series had. I hate that Nat and Tony are dead, that Wanda lost Vision (something nobody has said) the "eat a salad" comment from Frigga poor Thor had depression and they made fun of that. I ship Stucky but I'm happy that he lived with Peggy, I just hate the plot holes, I always believed Steve was like Logan in the aging but he deserves to rest as Bucky (1/2
2/2 and I'm grateful for the hard work the actors and people behind the scene put in doing the MCU and as I always believed for everything in books, movies, series, etc fan fiction is there to make things as you would like or with a different AU. So for me Steve got Nat back when he returned the soul stone and I understand Tony's ending even if I don't like it, and if the decision for the ending brings us more characters and screen time with the rest of the cast I'm not gonna complain about it
All fine points and all things I pretty much agree with.
I hated Nat’s treatment and felt that Clint should have been the one to die on Vormir. The attempted parallels between Nat’s sacrifice to Gamora’s murder fell flat and either the intentional or unintentional idea that Clint should survive over her bc he had a family is irksome. In fact, all the implications that happy endings mean having a family is meh.
For me, Tony’s death, while undeniably sad and heartbreaking, also felt very cathartic. For someone who would have died in a cave to die, instead, saving the entire universe, Tony really became the person he wanted to be. But that’s me.
The lack of Vision actually surprised me. I’m not so sure who Wanda is talking about at the very end with her discussion with Clint when he says that he wishes there was a way to tell her ((Nat, obviously)) that they’ve won and she replies with “She knows. They both do.” Does she mean Nat and Tony or Nat and Vision? My assumption is Vision, bc, of course, Tony knows. He saw it happen. But then, they never explicitly say that so all I can go on is my assumption.
Thor’s treatment all around was offensive. It could have been avoided had they handled it with care and kindness, instead of making fun of him. Depression and any of the fallout from depression is no laughing matter and neither is fat-shaming. The only thing I think they did right by Thor is that he was still worthy, proving that depressed, out-of-shape, fat, doesn’t matter. Anyone can be worthy. That and also he didn’t “magic” himself back into shape and was still ultimately just as badass when it came down to it. But, yeah, otherwise that was a no-no for me.
I, too, am a stucky shipper. But like you said, I’m happy that Steve and Peggy were happy with each other in the end. All I’ve ever wanted was to see Steve end a movie happy and not dead and I got that. Not quite in the way I wanted, but I still got it. So, yeah.
The aging thing still has me scratching my head, yeah. The serum should have kept him young. Clearly, they were just trying to do something to get Chris Evans done and out and that’s the direction they went.
And, like you, I’m so grateful to those who have made all of this possible, even if there are things I didn’t care for. All their hard work has served us for the past 10 years and without them, there’d be none of this.
But as you said, fanfic is there for a reason. Just think of all the endless possibilities that come from each new movie, this one too. Marvel is full of flaws and things that need to be fixed. They need to do better, definitely. Hopefully, we see some of these changes with what they roll out next.
Endgame made me be done with Marvel, there's nothing I'm interested in seeing from now on, not even Spider Man that has my favorite actor Jake Gyllenhaal. I'm afraid of what they can do with Bucky, I do not want to see them pick up on his trauma and turn it into a joke. Good luck to those who will stay, good luck to Seb.
well, okay, this is your right. good luck in your future endeavors. While I have fond memories of Harry Potter, the casting of Johnny Depp and JKR’s spiral into fire did the same for me with the HP universe. I hope you have a fun time wherever you end up.
Love your Tumblr, but unfollowing until after I see Infinity War, because you're reblogging spoilers. Please consider tagging: I didn't need to know the Warriors Three died.
Dude, i haven’t reblogged any spoilers. I’ve had the movie blacklisted for months. I couldn’t even see this message until i clicked on it and didn’t even see the movie until sometime after you’d sent it. I didn’t spoil shit for you, the Warriors Three already died in Ragnorak. Not my fault you didn’t see that movie which is already out on DVD. I do tag for spoilers.
you never answered before. did you and viperbranium break up finally?
Yes, if you must know. @viperbranium and I have officially ended our relationship. It was a costly divorce as she was quite difficult to deal with, but I hired the best lawyer I know ((i’d tag him, but idk if he’d want me to name him here)) and we finally worked things out. She got the house. I got the Harley. We split the twins so that we never have to see each other again. That’s about the end of it.
y'know that Marvel tweeting about Steve's origin thing is fake? its satire, I'm afraid. Marvel did not write it
like the tweets?
i mean, cause... that’s Steve’s background regardless.
well i think there's a difference between assian producers, directors, etc. wanting to get a slice of the pie and, say, american producers that don't take into account assian american actors for their projects, so b4 you get on your high horse idk maybe just don't, and i only bought this up bc they are bashing on matt damon as if he single handedly casted himself in the damn movie, also ur reply was super rude /to me/ because i didn't side with anyone? my ask was about info that could be wrong??
Oh, I’m really sorry, I honestly didn’t mean to come across as rude in any way. My apologies for that, it was never my intention. Your ask was a little confusing and I was simply trying to answer it as best and briefly as I could without inciting a riot based upon a delicate topic.
Based upon your ask, I think you sent it bc that twitter feed post came out of my queue recently and maybe you were also referencing another post that held an entirely different viewpoint. But, I’m really not on any high horse, I promise you. that. Both posts were made by people of the same demographic expressing their opinions on the same thing. They’re both allowed that.
One side is okay with the movie, liked it, wanted to support it. Which is totally within their right. The other side, however, did not support it and felt offended by it. Yes, they were bashing Matt Damon bc he’s Matt Damon, a well-established actor, writer, and producer with plenty of job security who doesn’t need to be taking jobs like that.
Sure, there’s a difference between Asian film makers who, to borrow your term, “want to get a slice of the pie” and white america film makers who whitewash and stick to stereotypes etc. But that’s still a problem, don’t you think? That Matt Damon ((just using him since he’s who we’re talking about)) has to be the advertised protagonist to bring people in? So maybe this was done differently and was more of a bait and switch, but it’s not just this, y’know? It’s this and Ghost in the Shell and Aloha and Lucy and Avatar: the Last Airbender and Dragon Ball Z and Doctor Strange etc. This is just one link in a long chain and some people are just angry.
Like, okay, as an example of my own personal experiences, the remake of Ghostbusters was thrilling for me. I loved it, supported it, I want more like it. There are plenty of other women who feel 100% differently, but I don’t want them silencing me. Branching from the same issue, women of color shouldn’t have me silencing them when they say ‘hey, cool that star wars has had two female leads now, but can’t we exist in a galaxy far far away, too?’
You say that your ask was about info that could be wrong, but the thing is, if these posts are opinions ((not saying that opinions can’t be wrong, we all -- most of us anyway -- know that)) based on something of a gray-ish area, then no info can really be wrong. My answer was simply pointing out my desire of not wanting to silence those who I feel shouldn’t be silenced more.
But, in any event, I hope you’re headed into a nice weekend, anon, and for anyone else that’s all i’m answering on this subject now. Any further asks will be ignored and deleted,
I did not like the ending, this was not because Stucky did not happen, felt so out of character for Steve, plus they reduced Peggy to a trophy wife. There are so many plot holes and things that are offensive, I can not forget about Nat's death and Clint's racism.
i mean, okay? i’m not gonna try to convince you otherwise. I’m not gonna argue with you. You’re entitled to your opinion.
