yeahh ive been working with kids and even 17 year olds were so young. more mature than middle schoolers but still they needed support from someone older. my 13-14 year old students were just as you said. i think we tend to believe we've always been as mature as we are now so its a shock

yeah, it's so weird....by the time i was 16-17 i was utterly convinced i was as emotionally mature as i would ever be. and the adults around me treated me as if i was too, like there was never any recognition of adolescence being an extension of childhood, especially not that far into adolescence. it was an immediate dip into adulthood, which was felt so strange, and now at 22 i just feel like an old kid because for a long time i was a young "adult" lol. it's sad. yeah, i just notice it a lot lately when talking to teenagers now, how young they really are. i didn't see myself like that past the age of what, 12. but maybe i was acting like that all along in some capacity. i know it's normal to want to be independent and to think you're older than you are at that age, but it's a little sad to feel that way looking back. yeah, a shock is the exact way to put it, i agree.

- They name her Rose Caitlin Dalton-Sanchez

- Her nickname is Checkers, after Chess

- Originally it was just an at home name, a secret between the three of them, but Checkers absolutely insisted on it

- Now she gets weird looks from subs but she doesn't mind

- She likes knowing she's carrying on Chess's legacy

- She grows up at the aquarium and all her friends are so jealous

- They're a cat family

- Every single night, Kate and Eva sleep tangled up together and cuddling

- (which might sound like a given but my parents don't do that anymore, and I'm sure they're not the only ones)

- Sometimes Checkers comes and sleeps with them because she gets nightmares

- When Checkers was 7, she broke her wrist and Kate was the one to take her to the ER and she put on a brave face all day but then when she got home and Checkers was in bed and asleep, she cried for hours to Eva

- They're super close to their daughter

- She tells them everything

- She's demiheteromantic and asexual, and they help her figure out who she is every step of the way

- They're a Happy Family™

- Obviously they have fights sometimes, but they always work it out and don't let Checkers hear if they can help it
