Birthday Celebrations

Dick hasn't had a lot of practice planning for humans' birthdays - but he will certainly try for his husband.

Ah! I have a few more and then I'll shut up. x3 What sort of races exist, as far as free-thinking, humanoid creatures go? What about creatures in general? Do ghosts exist? What about other paranormal phenomena? What sort of climates exist in the main parts of the world? How does this affect normal life? What exists as far as entertainment? Is the world largely matriarchal or patriarchal?

ok well about races!! there are human of course and this is the dominant race everywhere you go in nydilithae, which is really xenophobic (like so bad that any non-human isn't even permitted within the main city's walls)!!! then there are the desert travellers which are... reptilian people, often things like nagas or bipedal giant lizards and stuff like that! who make really nice fabrics for some reason nobody knows their secret,,, and then there are wetlanders which are.... sort of like selkies, they spend most of their lives in the wetlands as fish and then think 'you know what, i'm sick of being a fish' and then they take their skin off and walk away from their marsh..... after which they find another wetland area and colonise the immediate area they have so many wetland colonies all over the place it is INSINE!!!!! those are the main ones then you have elves and dwarves which are really few in number and live secluded lifestyles really deep under the earth ~together~

as far as creatures go... within nydilithae it's mostly the sort of creatures you'd find here on earth!! they drove anything vaguely fantastical out/hunted it to extinction because it's often the magical stuff that tastes the best u no,, everywhere else though WOW it's crazy what kind of creatures those places have!! like the stuff i've been painting and whatnot i think i made a reference sheet actually for some of the stuff!! i could give an in-depth description of a couple of em if you'd like o:

the closest this world gets to ghosts are these... daughters of the miasma which are the ethereal forms of ladies led off the path in misty areas by these little glowing flying jellyfish that then kill the ladies and leave their souls floating around all creepy in the mist!!

hmmmm most of the world is like a temperate climate!! but if you go too far north there's this point where it gets REALLY COLD all of a sudden i mean like cold to the point that your blood would freeze in your veins if you spent more than a few hours there,, this is of course the home of many different humanoid races that nobody knows ANYTHING about because yknow they die before they can track em down

also there is a huge desert that covers an entire big island inhabited mostly by just the desert travellers although there are some fucking huge bugs that make the desert their home

as far as entertainment goes the arts are mostly dEAD,,, which is sad except for music!! which is really really popular in some places like in the main city of nydilithae where if you don't know how to poke at a lute and make it make nice sounds then you're pretty much a social outcast.... not really but it's really popular even though lutists or whoever don't get paid very well at all

also this world is mostly don't follow orders fend for yourself you're on your own kid JUST KIDDING i guess it's patriarchal!!!!!!!

Any special drugs existing in this world (ie spice in Dune, skooma in Skyrim, etc)? What sort of crimes are most common? What sort of society do most people live in (poverty, middle class, etc)? Actually, come to think of it, what sort of era is this world in? Medieval, Futuristic, steampunk? Expound on the available technologies. (Let's see if I can come up with any more. Oh good god am I sorry if I'm pestering at this point)

in the more ~~civilised~~ places there isn't really that much by way of drugs but if you know who to talk to you can get this specific kind of flower pollen!! which is a really soft pink and you lick it and then you get REALLY VIVID HALLUCINATIONS it is so hallucinogenic it is like worse than any hallucinogens we have here on earth and it lasts for DAYS and the king uses it a lot yep he's cool guy

ok to answer this next one i sort of need to exposit on the kingdom itself so basically there is just one like big main city in which everyone is middle class or higher (because otherwise you couldn't afford to be inside the city walls) and then a lot of little villages and towns and ramshackle clusters of shacks in which people.... really only do enough to survive they are like one step above impoverished in that they don't really go hungry or anything but they don't have any excess to go spend places

talking about crimes, highwaymen are a really common sight and often... pretty vicious, not above just stabbing whoever they come across and taking whatever they've got on them and then leaving them on the roadside!! along with that burglary is quite a common problem in main cities all around the place?? not sure other than that omg dies a little

also this is a medieval era world!!! so basically no technology at all everything is done by hand with great difficulty/by magic with less difficulty but more suspicion..... basically yeah just medieval sort of stuff OOPS i should research this stuff shouldn't i yep i'll do that tonight,,,,

How many nations/countries/kingdoms are there? What sort of government do they all run under? Are they at peace, or at war? What are the leaders like? What is commerce like between nations? And um, in case you're only dealing with one nation and all these questions are moot: Are there any long-running plans to overthrow the current governing figure? What sort of justice system is there? What about punishment system? What sorts of things do they produce (ie coal, iron, wheat, tabacoo etc).

ok so like i mentioned before there is one main kingdom which spans the three huge islands that the known world is comprised of!! and this kingdom encompasses a whole lot of little nations,,, like hundreds that the kingdom's just swallowed up

there are some that have managed to keep the kingdom away FOR NOW and some that they just haven't reached yet

mostly everyone is peaceful except this main kingdom ok i'm gonna call it by its name now which is THE KINGDOM OF NYDILITHAE and nydilithae is really warlike so since they're pretty much the only people that fight they win all their battles really easily

pretty much everyone runs under a monarchy!!! monarchy or aristocracy in a few cases and then others are like ANARCHY except really well-organised anarchy in which everyone knows what they gotta do to keep the place going and it all works out fine

mostly the leaders are nice and well loved except for the nydilithaean king who everyone thinks is sort of a dick but can never really be bothered to do anything about it,, besides he has an army what are people even gonna do

there have been kind of a few attempts to take the throne but they got crushes really easily ALTHOUGH in the story i wanna write with this world there are these people in this one nation they visit that wanna kill the king and they have it all sorted out except my main character finds out about it from a whore and drags her along on this dumb quest to stop them uvu;; but that's a story for another time yep

nydilithae employs torture really often as a punishment!!!! they're quite infamous for it actually just wow. the death penalty is also implemented really often as a matter of fact the central square of the main city was built specifically for public executions!!!!!!! but other than torture and execution people get exiled from the kingdom and shipped off to one of the unconquered nations

they produce EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN no but they just produce a lot of stuff mostly things you can mine, which is why they can afford to have their currency made out of actual gold and silver (they like to show off their wealth a lot can you tell)

....that's actually the best answer i can come up with for that sorry unu;;; and i will answer the rest of your questions later because it is dinnertime now!!!!!

Any Creation myths? What's the main religion/what does it entail? Are there other significant religions? Are the god(s)/goddess(es) real/touch the world or are they intangible and don't really affect the world in any noticeable way beyond their followers? (More questions forthcoming, I've just decided bunching them together by topic might help you hehhe <3 Hope you don't mind a spam of questions! C: )

oh my gosh hmmm i haven't really thought about religion very much let's do that now

ok i'll answer these for the main ~kingdom in this world which is what the focus is mainly on ummmm

the idea of magic is quite foreign and scary to them so as a result they tend to only trust in what is tangible!! so to go with that they don't really like believing in the idea that some otherworldly being created their whole world uvu;; the closest they come to that is that when you die your soul (which is like the only intangible thing they even consider) is cast into the earth with your body if you've been good so that you can get rest.... some people think there might be another world that mirrors their own under the earth where the souls stay, not knowing that they're dead and instead just '''''living'''' a normal life

and if you're bad your soul comes to rest in certain fragile objects you might have about your house like vases and that's why when a vase shatters it makes such a loud noise!!! because that's your soul crying out as its prison is broken

other kingdoms/countries whatever have really really complex religions with like 50 gods that this main kingdom just doesn't understand!!! they don't understand why you would ever pray to something you can't see for guidance or whatever (the fuck is a destiny, can i eat it????) so they pray to the walls of their cities to hold fast and defend them and to their earth to grow healthy crops!!!!!

wow does any of that even make sense though i don't understand
