@anothersirius continued from here
Remus hadn’t tried to reach Sirius through the summer. He usually sent a few owls, but he felt miserable. He felt like he’d been used in some sick little game and he wanted no part in that sort of thing. If he had hurt Snape... It could have been his end at school. Dumbledore had made special exceptions for him, had set everything up so no one would have to know, but if something had gone wrong..
His mind pulled away from the thought when his mother called for him. A call? On the phone? His friends never called on the phone, even though he had at one point shared his number (before he realized they didn’t have numbers themselves). Evans was the only one he knew who had a phone and he wouldn’t think she had his home number.
Smiling a bit at his mother, he took the phone with a little thanks before putting it to his ear, tugging at the coil. “Hello? It’s Remus..”
