Hello! I just wanted to take a chance to thank you for still making gifs of so many of the shows. I’ve been on tumblr for a long long time and sadly I’ve seen the decline and how many creators have left or stopped making things (understandably so because the engagement can be so bad). I just wanted to let you know I really appreciate your contributions to the community still :) your gifs are lovely!

Truthfully, I've long become blasé to notes because the engagement on my stuff has always been on the quiet side—even more so now then before with how much the Tumblr community has changed over the years and with how there is a shift towards Likes instead of Reblogs.

My approach towards making gifs has always been as a stress relief hobby so I'll gif whatever interests me whenever I have the time; along with the occasional requests. So, while it'd be great to get some engagement, it doesn't bother me even if there is little to no engagement on my posts because, at the end of the day, I made something I liked. And if someone, or a few someones, came across something I made and it made them just a little bit happy to see it (even if they don't engage with it) than that would be an added bonus.

Whats the hardest thing you dealt w so far?

So far this year? It’s only one month in, but a lot has happened. The hardest thing? That’s a bit difficult to explain, but I’ll tell you something else I had difficulty dealing with… I’m away at college and my grandpa was currently hospitalized. He’s doing a bit better, and I’m hoping I can head back home this weekend.

hey i wanted to know how do u make high quality gifs if u dont mind telling me? ive been wanting to make the latest stray dogs ending, more specifically dazai scene towards the end of the song but i dont know how to, giphy doesn't let me make one

Hi,

Prior to making my gifs, I make sure to download the anime episode at either a 720 or 1080 video quality. Afterwards, to make my gifs, I mainly use two programs: KMPlayer and Photoshop CS5.

KMPlayer is used to extract the specific frames from the anime to make the gifs. Some of my usual KMPlayer settings are "PNG (slow)" for Image format; "Continuously" for Numbers to extract; "Every Frame" for Frames to extract; and "Original size" for Size to extract. Collectively, this will give me a large amount of screenshots at a decent quality to make gifs with.

Photoshop CS5 is then used to turn those extracted frames into gifs as well as to make adjustments to the original screenshot images. To enhance the quality of the gifs, I mostly use a combination of Smart Sharpen and Surface Blur so that when the image is compressed into a gif it would still look defined and the colors would be better blended to avoid graininess. To enhance the brightness of the images I use a combination of Levels, Curves, and Brightness/Contrast Adjustments layers. Along with that, I also use a combination of Hue/Saturation, Color Balance, Selective Color Adjustment layers to enhance and modify the colors of the images. Later, I would then turn these individual frames into a gif by combining them together in the Animation TImeline and setting a Frame Delay that looks reasonable for the scene I'm gifing (such as 0.08 or 0.13). When everything is done I go to Save for Web & Devices, enter the appropriate Image Size (such as 540 x 250), and click Save. Collectively, this will give me a gif that looks high quality but there are also times that it won't look as high quality—such as if there is a flaw in the source video or if it's a very low lighting scene.

This is just a quick and brief summary of what I do to make my gifs, a much more detailed breakdown, along with many helpful tutorials, can be found here. But if there is something more specific you would like ask feel free to do so and I hope this helps~

Hi! No worries, it's no bother at all^^

Short Answer: No, Rinharu is not canon/official.

Long Answer: Free! is a sports anime based on swimming so the series is mostly focused on the sport itself—both the act of swimming in the pool as well as the individual characters’ stories as a team and with swimming. Throughout most of the series, Rin and Haru's relationship is a central part of the story as they are both friends and rivals as well as each others greatest inspiration and motivation—triggering each other’s growth both as competitive swimmers and as individuals. As the anime progresses and the cast of characters grows, Rin and Haru also become the link that connects these characters because they are on different teams and in different schools. Rin and Haru’s relationship with each other and the bond that they share has enough implications that it can be read as a deep friendship or as something more; however, the series neither confirms nor denies, officially, what their true relationship status is.

For the Given OVA, I got it from Aarinfantasy; however, to access the torrent you would need a membership. I've also been made aware that someone uploaded it to here and that there's apparently an Italian subbed version here.
