[Ansisa is waiting at the park for Noelle for a playdate. Her family is within calling distance, but she's visually not quite in range. She is under a bridge, trying to read some graffiti on the wall she can't figure out.]
Ansisa: S..y...b...a... what does that even spell??
[The sounds of wings flapping are in the background, Ansisa pays no mind.]
Ansisa: [eeps and turns around, spotting Nonna and immediately snarling]
Ansisa: What do you want?! Hag!
Nonna, struggling but managing to keep her cool for once: What are you doing under this bridge?
Ansisa: What does it matter to you! I'm just waiting for my cousin to come along so we can play! She's kinda late though...
Nonna, hiding her grin: Are you sure she wants to come and play with you?
Ansisa, caught off guard: What?
Nonna, walking under the bridge with her: Are you sure she wants to play with you?
Ansisa, blinking rapidly in confusion as her tail thrashes: What kind of question is that?!
Nonna, standing in front of her: Is she coming because she likes you? Or because she's obligated? I will be honest, I find it surprising that you have friends to play with. You're so wild, so uncontained. And you might not have realized, how much damage you've done throughout your life.
Ansisa, backing away, starting to get uncomfortable: Wha-
Nonna: [Kneels down, reaching and taking her arms and pulling her close again]
Nonna: Do you know why your grandfather walks with a cane? Takes all those medications? Wears a brace?
Ansisa: Grandpa Thurston? He-
Nonna: -He never told you, didn't he?
Ansisa: That's kinda his own business-
Nonna: When you were a little girl, he was babysitting you. And you, being the uncontrollable little monster you were, wanted to climb way up high. He tried to pull you down. He fell.
[Nonna shoves Ansisa to the ground as she tells her those final two words. Ansisa looks up in horror]
Ansisa: What!? I don't remember anything like that! I wouldn't ever get him hurt-
Nonna, reaching and taking her arm, squeezing it: You did. You are to blame for his complex medical condition. Every bit of pain, every day with a cane, every pill, every struggle... your fault.
Ansisa, tearing up: No! No! It's not true!
Nonna: It is the truth. And that's not the only time you've hurt the people around you. From the moment of your conception, you were a curse. A blight. A parasite. Did they ever tell you anything about what you were like as an egg?
Ansisa: ... No. No, they never talk about it. They talk about my sisters' eggs sometimes, but... not me... Why is that?
Nonna: [stands up, looking down on her as she walks around her in a circle, explaining]
Nonna: You were never planned. You were unwanted. Your conception brought in an era of chaos to your family. Your father had to move homes, bother your mother's parents for a place to stay.
Ansisa, crying, her voice a mere whisper of shock: I was unwanted?
Nonna: And your family did not react well. The moment he found out about your egg, your Uncle Gilbert was furious about your existence. He took a train to Pteranodon Terrace and attacked your father in cold blood. He was that furious. Your conception, it brought strife between long time friends and gave your father permanent scars on his leg. Just look for them, the long, deep, deliberate cuts. That was because of your pathetic existence.
Ansisa, remembering those scars, crying more: But... they're friends now! That doesn't make sense-
Nonna: One thing lead to another. Your Aunt Tiny attacked Gilbert in retaliation, making a mess of things and sending your grandfather Sonny into a mental collapse. He disappeared from the train for a while, and once again, it all can be traced back to you. If you had not been conceived, none of that would have happened. And poor Shiny! She is sadly unable to have biological children herself. The jealousy she felt towards your mother, her supposed best friend, was toxic.
Ansisa, in tears, whispering: No...
Nonna, standing behind her, putting firm hands on Ansisa's shoulder: But do you want know who was hurt the most from your conception?
Ansisa, staring ahead with haunted eyes: ...
Nonna, leaning down and whispering: Your mother. When she laid your egg, she nearly died. She was egg bound, a horrible and painful ordeal. She bled out, she was exhausted. In pain, she nearly gave her life giving you life... the inconvenient, unplanned egg she had never asked for, nearly murdered her when she gave her the world...
Ansisa: [starts sobbing] Ma... I'm sorry...!
Nonna: Good for nothing. A burden. A curse. You love your family, and yet, you hurt them at every turn... If you truly loved them, they would be rid of you.
Ansisa: [sobbing, collapses to the ground]
Nonna, standing up, smiling vilely: Good girl... [Turns around and flies away]
Ansisa: [sobbing on the ground, Nonna's words swirling around her head. She is panting, struggling for breath, as Nonna's advice to rid her family of herself screams in her mind...]
Noelle, jumping under the bridge: Ansisa! Hey! Sorry I'm late! We're going to have a blast today! ... Huh?
[Ansisa is nowhere to be seen.]
Noelle, scratching her head: ... I could have sworn we agreed to meet here...
