Houses of Parliament Stone came from a Quarry where Anston Greendlands Park in Sheffield is.
The limestone was quarried where Anston Greenlands park is, which became a land fill and was turned into a park. The quarried stone was sent down the Chesterfield canal to Goole and around the coast. Perfect pictures of the church what can I say. But so sad they sold off the old vicarage behind it for building land, as they held Quintessential summers fairs etc there every year. Corner farm Main St North Anston Sheffield
Corner farm Main St North Anston Sheffield
I can’t remember this being a farm, but it says Corner farm on it. Can anybody remember this being a farm or has somebody just called it Corner Farm? I have added to my historical map of Anston Farms after the picture, click on the top left, then the location and directions. From my reckoning, we have lost at least 12 farms in North and South Anston. If you can add to my list of Anston farms…

Mill Farm Main street North Anston
I am guessing this was once a real farm and have added to my map of historical places after the picture. Can you tell me of any other farms that have disappeared in Anston and Dinnington? We are only 60% food efficient in the UK and should be protecting our farmers far more, I know of at least 10 farms that have disappeared in Anston since 1966.

Elliots farm North Anston.
You will find where this farm is at the bottom of the Baulk in Anston. It’s been converted into barn conversions and people graze their animals on the land in the front of it. I remember there being an annual fairground here. Can anybody else tell me anything more about this farm? You can walk down a footpath at the side of it to where Town Wells farm existed behind it. Lodge farm Anston Main street.
We have lost so many farms in Anston at a time when we need to become more food sufficient, I believe there has been greed by farmers to accelerate profits, but also EU regulation killed off many of the smaller farms. I can’t say that this is a great redevelopment of an old farm, but there was a farm here and the original farmhouse is still here.

Easter Sunday Churchs.
I think this is the first time we have been locked out of our churches at Easter since the English civil war. I am not a great fan of religion, as I believe I can get closer to God by meditating, but I think the churches around me really add to the landscape. I have created a blog post of all the churches around me for people missing the Sunday service.
