♣ - What is one thing that they find embarrassing? (About them, others, things in general)
Embarrassment is barely a thing he cares about. It’s not that he is positive enough about himself to not care, it’s more a thing of those moments being over far too fast to care much. Sure, there might be things in which he feels like it, too, but they are rare, and nothing in particular. Other emotions are usually stronger.
☺ - Do they prefer sour or sweet treats?
Sweet. Sweet. All the sweet things. Especially after living two years in a place where sugar is considered a rare drug. Sweet.
✓ - How do they react to praise?
Jokingly. Despite contrary belief, he is not half as self-confident as most think he might be; is actually filled with quite a ton of self-doubt, always considering himself to be the weakest part of a group and holding others back. If praised, he will most likely grin and give you a dumb comment and not believe you. (Or, might be a tad shocked and fall strangely quiet. Either one.)
Lotsa things, much more than he would admit. As ironic as it sounds, actual death — his life hasn’t been exactly fulfilled, even though it did get better, and he would at least change a bit in it before he goes for good.
Mostly afraid of falling back in old habits, actually. Heroin is the one thing he never wants to think about ever again, and the mere possibility of falling back to it — Yeah, no.
☾- Are they prone to nightmares or dreamless sleep?
Both, sorta. His dreams are usually less nightmares and more fucked up prophetic shit nobody can make sense of. It’s annoying, actually, because those things only ever make sense afterwards, so. Of course, there’s an occasional nightmare thrown in, but not so badly he can’t sleep, most nights. Not that much of a tortured soul.
☼ - Something that/Someone who makes them happy
Pfft, almost everything, depending on his mood. Suze is the light of his life, but he has no clue where she is — if she even is in the same alternative universe he is currently in — so that’s a bit of a problem. Otherwise, really dumb humor and references; as long as he gets them. Lifts his mood a ton.
Loyalty is a very important issue, actually. He himself is a very loyal person once you get there (to the point of literally following till the end of worlds and dying for you), and obviously, he would expect something of that back — it’s a thing of giving and receiving, really, but it’s a big issue to him.
♕ - Do they trust easily?
It — depends. Trust is a bit difficult, actually, even while it’s rare he will actually mistrust without a reason, and even then, not necessarily show it. Eddie is a generally very social and jovial person, but actually letting someone in is a bit hard, after all the things happening, betrayal in very different kind of ways. So not really, unless someone manages to actual push the exactly right buttons.
He has always had pretty good health — the sort where you barely ever catch a cold, and seem to walk right past each virus affecting the people around you. Sickness barely found it’s way into his body, and that’s one of the reasons why he got still fairly well through years of addiction. It probably would have killed him, or at least returned his body to be a complete mess if not.
No, broken or bruised bones were far more common during his youth, usually from some dumb idea Henry had, and trying to get out without much trouble. — Or the one time his brother twisted his wrist on purpose when he wouldn’t want to help him set a cat on fire.
ღ for a LOVE/SEXUALITY headcanon
That's an unconditional thing. When he does something, it’s wholehearted, and love just the more. It’s not, has never been, a slow process for him but rather crashing into it head first. Of course, that makes him just the more vulnerable too, and that happened more often than he wants to admit, even if he pretends everyzone before Suze he never felt for anyway. It’s in fact a different love — one that is connected on another level. And he thinks is no paradox in loving more than one person at a time, just in different ways.
† for a RELIGION headcanon
Mom Dean has been a very religious person, to the point where it gets so annoying both her sons didn’t feel all too much sympathy for it at all. It’s not that he doesn’t believe in something, some force there — be it ka, be it a god, whatever, he doesn’t care much. There is reason for everything one way or another, and why wouldn’t all religions be true in at least one way?
He wouldn’t say he as faith or anything, but he certainly has a certain belief.i
✄ for a PET PEEVE headcanon
People that insist there’s just one way to do something, just one option, just one opinion. They get onto his nerves so fast. Flexible thinking is the way to go, and he gets, still does, into trouble for openly telling people like that how stupid they look to him. Or for not doing something the way he is supposed to.
☂ for a FOOD headcanon
Never had been very picky about it — it’s there, it’s ediable, so he might not be impressed, but it works fine enough. Midworld could have invested more into any sort of sweet stuff, though. Ever since had a majorly weakness for anything sweet. That’s what happens when you barely get any sugar over months.
Send me §, for my muse's reaction to yours slowly slipping a knife into their chest.
This day was supposed to go differently, very so. The feeling of something being off was simply pushed onto the general nervousness that lingered for days, crawling in front more with each passing hour. Not surprising, not really. It was a bit hard to concentrate on a lot the closer your wedding day comes, right?
So he ignored the feelings in the back of his head, and it was impossible to say if Steve had similar ones, treating them all the same for the same reasons. He'd know better — but really, he was nervous in a way sitting down alone seemed impossible, yet alone thinking much about what else there might lay in some feelings he might or might not have.
The thing is — when you're dating Captain America, that necessarily draws some attention to you, whether you want it or not, and since it's not quite a thing known to everyone, as Steve didn't go and claimed his secret identity everywhere (what would the purpose of a secret identity be then, anyway?) those people that get you as the fiance of Captain America, rather than the ones that see you as the one of Steve Rogers, are not necessarily the ones you wanna have turning up on your wedding day, really.
Not that there were that many people, really. He still didn't know too many people around, which was a bit sad thinking about it anyway, he'd really go out more, not that he was unhappy in any way — but anyway, he didn't bring anyone, and for reasons that weren't all too clearly laid out (he suspected Steve didn't want to make him uncomfortable about it), there weren't all that many anyway. Jemma had enough fun throwing flowers around, either way.
Nothing special, right? People got married all the time. It couldn't be all that time. Hell, he had been married before, just without the whole wedding stuff. And a bit under another circumstances, but — they'd be fine.
He's still trying to tell himself that, to calm down when things happen a bit too fast. He's not sure on how it comes that whoever there is suddenly shooting is here, and now, and he's certainly not prepared for it, the only clear thought of Jemma, Jemma is in their line and Steve can watch out better than the girl can, so he's worried about him as well but not as much as to getting the kid out of the way, so he moves without thinking, just blunt reflex —
It's a problem, when your soon-to-be husband has the same one, right? It's mistake. It's an accident. But the knife that had just been in one of the intruders' hands, being unarmed by Steve, suddenly seems to be in the way he moves, and it seems so slow.
So goddamn slow.
He manages to wonder who's going to watch Jemma now when Steve's at work, and he has time to take in the shocked view on the blond's face, and to think we're not married yet that doesn't make sense.
