Wild type axolotls are dark grayish green with black and olive mottling. They also have speckles of gold from the iridophores, and a pale belly. They have the same colors and patterns as species found in the wild. This is the default color and is the oldest in the pet trade.

but adapting to the Pink and light colored lake i’d assume they’d take on a purplely color. and their hair and skin being used to the treatment of the waters. so its always clean anything with human products could lead to terrible hair quality and skin rashes

also y/n has no blood. :/ i never see Axolotl’s bleed. so maybe due to mutation they have rapid regeneration.

Imagine the Circus Master tries to attack the group and y/n had to go back to the lake to stop from drying out. and suddenly y/n appears from NOWHERE and starts clawing to rip out the gem in his chest

Lol I remember before when axolotls were becoming popular I didn't actually know they came in colours like that because the pink ones were all you'd see. But the others are so pretty too tbh, they deserve more love and recognition ❤️

They can bleed, but it stops very quickly and they might need medical care if it doesn't stop 😓 although I think they can only regen limbs about five times. ....hybrid reader tho so tee hee

I think although they see Mat (or possibly someone else) as a romantic partner, it's likely that they became a sort of platonic Yan for the rest of the group.
