Born to Josie and Erik Soto in Chicago, Andrei is the second born of three children with a older sister and a younger brother. His family lived a fairly modest lifestyle, Josie a stay at home mom and his father working in an automobile factory, and his parents did their best to give their kids a good childhood growing up. Andrei was the rebellious one in his family, something that others passed off as middle child syndrome. His tendency to get into trouble occasionally resulted in fights, something that continued on from his teenage years to his late twenties.
While his parents actively encouraged their kids to go to college and get a degree, Andrei knew that wasn’t the life for him. He went through a variety of jobs, never finding one interesting or entertaining enough until Andrei volunteered to take on bartending at a friend’s business.
The relationship that would eventually lead to him spending the rest of his life as a Rose started about five years ago. It was a bit of a cliche meeting, really, the two bumping into each other at a cafe near where Andrei worked and they hit it off pretty quickly. A few weeks later, they started to date, though he always had the feeling that the other man was keeping something from him. It wasn’t something he pried at, figuring that if it was something really important, the other man would tell him.
Turns out, it was kind of very important. Though Andrei had no problem with the notion of dating a fae, it came as a shock to him months ago when it was revealed since he’d never even imagined that there could be other species out there. What his boyfriend of the time neglected to tell him was even mentioning his secret could get them both in serious trouble.
Now the two of them are in the Garden and have been for a month. To say that Andrei is angry at his current situation would be putting it mildly and he hasn’t exactly been subtle about his feelings. After all, why should he just roll over and accept things just because he’s told to?
