since my previous drawings were of angel girls, i decided to change things up a bit, here's Kurotsuno! Hanten + Anten [general thoughts]

Honesty, I've thought about this image for a while. The text at the bottom of it translates as, “An evildoer since ancient times” and everyone seems to think this is Hanten, but... what if it isn’t? What if it’s another character entirely who physically resembles both Hanten & Anten, and was the one who merged or brought the two of them together? The bit that makes me suspicious here is precisely, “since ancient times” - Hanten, to me, doesn’t even seem to that old to be referred to as “ancient”, and even goes to school with Kurotsuno (attendance is voluntary, so we never actually see her attending school).

So, Hanten is either older than she looks, or she has some ties to the "star" characters (Reminiscences & Vestiges of Star), or she's been reborn many times over, or there is indeed a "third" unknown character - the one who's been around since ancient times, and is currently possessing Hanten's soul.

Not to mention, she hasn't been seen with the yellow eye in any of her other artworks. Unless you want to count this one;

where you just have to speculate what color it is because it's in monochrome, but both eyes have that spiral pattern, so it's not a complete shot in the dark to assume it's that exact same color of the iris as the one in the above image. Hanten's other eye undoubtedly looks a little... off, as well. Her eyes look normal in all of her other artworks, except for just that specific cover art for chapter 6.

The demon in question could also be Anten (who, in question, has been stated to "cause trouble (or start shit) more often than there are stars in the sky" - and apparently, a lot of folks want him dead.) when he was younger and had shorter horns, but I don’t believe that, because this is what he looked like in the past, before the events of Obsolete Dream (left image):

Anten’s past form has the three spirals of his horns, and are still the same as they've always been. He was also an albino in the past much like Hanten, but both of their hairstyles + colors changed at some point when they merged into 'one' individual.

The official art (right image), "THE PAST" in question has both Olivia/Kuro’s past + Hanten’s being depicted, not just the former’s - I would have assumed at first the guy with the knife to be the missing, mysterious third link with a connection to both Hanten & Anten, but that idea was abandoned, since knife guy more than likely has a connection specifically to Olivia. ("Oh, what if it's Kcalb?" went through my head but he's never been seen wielding a knife before nor seen with those ring patterns anywhere, so I also abandoned that thought.)

That being said, we still don’t know how Anten got decapitated by Taffy but is still alive and kicking it (unless these events have yet to take place in the future), maybe so long as one of them, Hanten OR Anten, still lives, the other cannot die? Their souls could be connected in that particular way. Demons might be hard to kill, but Anten looks pretty damn dead in that image, so he still had to be brought back somehow.
