The COMPLETE OVERHAUL! - Anthem Game 2.0
Last of a Generation
There is something about Clint Reynold’s style that is very old fashioned. It’s kind of reflects on his own personal being. A trails rider, discipline that’s not as prevalent in the media anymore. Wearing fitting t-shirts when the rest of BMX has decided to go looser. Even the intro to this Anthem II section which shows his handiness, a trait sort of lost in the internet generation. It’s all a reflection of himself that’s true and unique and subtlety defiant of the mainstream media. His own riding style is a pinnacle of what mid school BMX strived for. A trail style that is translated excellently to old school over vert parks and unique street spots. I don’t even think he’s that old but we’re all products of our environment and Clint, well he is the prodigy created from behind from the mid schoolers of past.
We have riders who adopt the whole mid school formula but never truly progressed upon the ideals and tricks of the time. They’re just vestiges of what used to be but in Clint’s not that necessarily that. Even though he is a true mid school rider, he continues to progress the ride upon the ideals of that time. Going high, doing the simple things right, riding everything equally proficient that whole mid school generation school of thought but then he does the half bars, lawn mowers, and other bag of tricks with his own unique flare that if we dropped him back in that mid school era, he would still be Clint Reynolds and not necessarily just another mid school rider.
I’m not saying that every rider has to progress upon something uniquely but it is a needed aspect to keep riding going. Clint Reynolds is totally out of his own element in today’s riding picture but it doesn’t matter but because what he offers is different from everyone else. He’s progressive but through carving his own path and not one that is laid upon and expected by the people or the media. Clint will never be the next Garrett Reynolds or whoever else is in now but that’s ok. Cause Clint is a generational reminder that what used to be is still viable and has plenty of progression left in it. Hip hop and rap maybe the most popular type of music today but an indie band that is building upon what the Beatles created is still good music.
Plus he has a signature move. I like signature moves cause it reminds me of something like Mortal Kombat where you have the “finish them” move which is unique to the character. In riding’s case a signature move is a statement for the rider that just craps on everyone and says “Hey! I own this trick!”. I really like Clint Reynold’s lawn mower. It’s bold. It’s simple. It’s got that retro feel. It’s entirely original but not overdone. No other rider does it half as well. Clint’s dope.

Jakalope - Anthem 2
Uh oh, did you slip? Oh no, lost your grip. Oh, just go with it. Don't be a secret, you were born for this.
Be contagious, be elated. The next reigner, be a believer. You were born for this.
No such thing as mistake and just learn from what you take. And oh, be your own strength, your own destination. When you stand on belief, tower over defeat. Stand up, you were born for this.
This life for the taking, it's yours if you make it. So go on and take it, you were born for this.
Born for, you were born for this, you were born for this. You were born for this, you were born for this. You were born for this, you were born for this. You were born for this, you were born for this.
