Movie Review: Love, Lights, Hanukkah!
This was alright. I liked the blending of the two holidays and it was a different way of coming to celebrate two sets of traditions. Especially with her doing a DNA test and being surprised by half of her heritage. (We have to look past the coincidence of the family being 10 miles away...)
I wasn’t super into the main actress, I did look her up and she was in Defiance which I did watch. There was just something about the way she was through the movie that didn’t click for me.
So many of these holiday movies have compressed timelines and sometimes it works, sometimes it’s iffy and sometimes it doesn’t work. I think that this one falls between iffy/doesn’t work. I just needed more time for her to come to terms with two religious traditions, a new mom, additional siblings/family members.
Christina and David were adorable together. And her unbridled excitement in learning about new family members and traditions refreshing. So it was middle of the road for me. :)
