one thing to note - this is mostly from Anthony's pov, some some details are unsure or unspecific, because these are DND characters, and I don't know the entirety of Scamley's lore, especially post-divorce, because we get to find that out as the campaign goes on :3
He was created to be an entertainment robot, and was highly advanced tech for his time. At some point his creator signed with Scamley.
Scamley would advertise during Anthony's shows, and give him and the creator some cash in return for however long Scamley advertised for.
Over the course of 4-5 years the two got along better, becoming friends. Anthony taught scam about the show business, how to dance, and act, and all that good stuff. Eventually Scamley, who btw, went as Sam at the time, joined in on the show. After those few years...

After a few years, scamley started getting into religion, worshipping some God Anthony had never heard of, Gaster.
Anthony found it unusual, but was supportive of his husband nonetheless.
Over time, scamley became more and more devoted to this god, more frequently leaving to worship, becoming more and more devoted to this God than he was to his husband.
Anthony was worried. He was confused. He felt like it was becoming unhealthy. He wasn't sure what to do about it though.
One day, Scamley disappeared. No notes, no warning, no nothing. Just... gone...
