Sharing this because this is just disgusting and the fact that Buzzfeed is doing this despite their animators and even the original creator/va of Chikin Nuggit speaking out of it is garbage.

I really wanna say that I'm surprised but I'm not because, Buzzfeed is a huge corp so I'm not shock that their betraying their artists, va's and animators who work for them by doing this.

my annoyed rant about disney live actions remakes

my biggest beef with the live action disney movies (outside of just being a pointless cash grab) is that its primary changes is addressing all the bad faith buzzfeed like criticism ppl have of disney princesses. like no ariel didnt sacrifice her voice for a man, she always wanted to go to the surface but seeing eric was another motivator to commit. and cinderella didnt sit around waiting for a man to save her, she was neglected by her stepmom and wanted one special night where she could be beautiful.

idk why disney is directing these live action movies to address those concerns and it slowly led to less romance in disney movies bcuz disney is so aphobic towards the most lukewarm controversy yet (especially in the last 10 yrs or so). the worst cumulation of this is the movie wish where they had an actual cool storyline with a love interest, but reduced him to a marketable plushie and cut out the romance, in an ill attempt to make it more “girl boss” friendly. i hate the notion that femininity equals weakness or that for a female character to be strong, she cant fall in love or love makes her weak. its like these media companies (lets be real male execs and writers) are incompetent when it comes to writing a feminist character bcuz they dilute it to being a “woman who hates that shes a woman and despise anything feminine related” like she’s a pick me.

i know that disney romance are unrealistic but thats the fucking point of them. i hate the cinemasins style twitter media criticism of nitpicking shit over things not be relatable to them and saying its unrealistic, like its a disney animated movie with talking animals with magic occasionally.

one thing i felt like disney live action remakes could have achieved is doing remakes of their less popular animated movies (like atlantis, jungle book, etc.) to bring new attention to that property and it wont harm the love ppl have for the og as, sure theyre remembered fondly by same, but those movies are universally seen like u have with aladdin, snow white, the little mermaid, the full disney renaissance catalog. or could have kept doing maleficient like movies where they focus on the villains, bcuz at least its adding something different (i say no to prequels/origin stories) and offers a new take on the original story. or like what if shit, idk how media companies treat their IPs like garbage when its really not hard to create a sorta well received fan favorite movie. i blame executive meddling for this, but seriously, how hard is it to create a GOOD story with ur established IPs????

in my opinion, they nailed most of them, especially Esme, and i quite like their version of Aro, and thought you might do too. (btw i’m loving leech!! cant wait to see how it turns out)

I'm sorry, anon, I... may or may not have roasted the life out of those artbreeds in private. They're so bad, all of them.

It's not just a matter of how I hc the characters, it's a matter of artbreeding. Artbreeder has its default faces, and learning how to use the site is largely about learning how to create a face that's actually your own creation, and not just "this default face but I made it blonde".

This buzzfeed article is made by someone who sucks at artbreeder, is what I'm saying. Just look at Carlisle, Jasper, and Edward: it's the same face with different hair color and sliiiightly different genes. Aro and Emmett are damningly similar as well, so I think they were using the same base face for all five. Jacob and Leah have the almost exact same face too. Rosalie is so default that it hurts, they just grabbed something right off trending and gave it golden eyes.

They also all just... sorry but they look really bad. Bella, Renesmee, Jane, the five guys mentioned above, they all just look so bad.

So-called Buzzfeed journalists are shit writers. All of their pieces try to be “woke” by talking about racism and sexual abuse but all comparisons feel forced and miss the point entirely. They reek of cynicism and every single writer talks about as if they were better than the people or topic they’re talking about. More than facts or impressions, they write endless verbose about things not even related to each other and how they feel those things are making the world an awful place, but that people don’t care enough or whatever. And my favorite is when they start every single article with “I don’t care/don’t like ____ BUT” and then they give their opinion. 

What if, and here’s the thing, people actually informed about whatever topic they wish to talk about wrote the articles, and each article felt less as if they were trying to channel their ineer Hemingway and failing miserably at it, and instead they found their own individual writing voices and wrote something concrete. Less forced metaphors. Less impressionism. Less flowery rethoric that has no business in an article about fashion. 

I have never thought Buzzfeed was an ideal place for journalism, but their writers keep on trying to make it happen, while simmultaneoulsy showing why no one takes their company seriously.
