Interview with the Vampire (2022 —)
the wives of the sons of maekar
i sketched some designs for jena dondarrion, aelinor penrose, alys arryn and dyanna dayne <3
baelor and aerys
Just kiera and their baby waiting for valarr to finish his meeting at the council.
Let me be delusional so I can upload more of them
breakdance prince
Young Dyanna Dayne & Maekar Targaryen
It was at this moment that he realized that he was in love.
Maybe this is a stupid question but I was rewatching AKOT7K and I noticed that, after the Tria,l Baelor immediately sends the maeseters to tend to Maekar, specifically stating they will tend to Dunk after. No mention of Daeron and Aerion at all. Now I know those aren't his kids, but it is still family, and even moreso, after fighting for Dunk and seeing how bad he looks he still sends the maesters to Maekar first? Despite the fact that they fought against each other? My question is, why? I have not read the books so maybe I'm missing context but like... despite ALL THAT he still sends the maesters to his brother first?
Here are my best guesses:
Despite what a coup it was for Baelor to participate in the trial against his own family members, he’s still quite rule-bound (“Aerion would like your head, with or without teeth. He will not have it, I promise you, but I cannot deny him a trial”) and thus sending his maester to attend a hedge knight before a prince of the blood was likely a step too far
Despite their issues, I think it’s safe to assume that Baelor does indeed love Maekar. Perhaps there’s also something of an implicit apology here for fighting against him and his sons, even though Baelor knows that defending Dunk was the right thing to do
As its patriarch, Maekar is to an extent a synecdoche for his household, and thus it may well go without saying that the maester’s care extends to Daeron and Aerion
There’s also the elephant in the room that this calculus occurs after Baelor had received a fatal head wound
Finally, on a storytelling level, it ensures that not only does Baelor fight and die for a hedge knight, but he dies in said hedge knight’s arms (while Maekar is not even present. Compounded suffering for the Prince of Summerhall, etc.)
Theon Greyjoy’s only crime was wanting an ounce of love and acceptance from anyone in his life and also that time he killed those kids
The Hammer and The Anvil
Prince Baelor Breakspear struck the rebel rear with a host of stormlords and Dornishmen, shattering their lines and the battle was ended. Prince Maekar led the rest of the forces to crush the rebels between them.
POV: You are Shiera SeaStar and you just have turned around:
Maegor and Aenys
Maekar, in tears after a very bad dream, goes knocking at the door of his big brother in the middle of the night to tell him he doesn't want to be alone -and Baelor obliges.
(i bought a french comics recently with a panel of two siblings sleeping and it was so cute i had to use it as reference -the comics is named Lyndon btw and it is great!!)
alternate universe where nothing really happened in Ashford but “sacrifices” were bound to be made in one way or another
Elia Martell in my style.
God I loveeeee heeeeer
(If the art gets a good response, I'll continue to draw portraits like this from Asoiaf. Commissions will also be open tomorrow.)
