i like REALLY dont wanna jinx it but a few pieces are just falling into place so nicely in my personal life rn..... like

1. my dysphoria has improved so much ever since i stopped trying to fit into some cisheteronormative box in order to be accepted, and ever since i just started being myself like it's the most mundane undebatable thing, it just became that. men like me exist because i exist and i don't have to prove myself to anyone, like shit i can't believe it took me this long to understand this. and in result this has helped me connect with people i thought i could never be myself around. turns out that when i'm not pretending to be someone else, i'm much more relaxed and open and funny and people are drawn to that

2. my chronic pussy pain has basically vanished completely???????? i can't believe it at all. 6 fucking years i lived in constant pain, sometimes more sometimes less but never nothing. and now over the course of 1-2 months it just. vanished. and i'm pain free. so now i'm apparently not getting bottom surgery and have thousands of €€€ more to my name than i thought i had.

i just can't believe it's fucking february and my mental health is like. good. i don't wanna jinx it but!!!!! rn it's good.

Isn't it a little fucked up that Ryan and Shane feel they have to follow along with what the shippers want though, because they know it sells like you said? Why do you think they do this if Shane also said he didn't want to encourage it?

you're missing one whole big point here and it's ryan and shane's autonomy. y'all keep forgetting that ryan and shane are breathing living human beings who make choices and who stand by their choices? first it's about who they hire and now it's about the content they produce.

y'all talk like us shippers -- or in the context of the previous (assuming ur someone else) anti, an employee -- are constantly holding ryan and shane at gunpoint and play with them like they're our marionette dolls. that's absurd. antis really like to make assumptions for other people and decide what's going on in their brains and what the motives behind whateverthefuck are, but shippers are not like that. we can separate fact from fiction. we know that what we're writing about is fiction and we're more than happy to see both dudes happily married and whatnot. i'm sure i can speak for a certain amount of shippers when i say that we actually wouldn't really want to see ryan and shane end up as a relationship together. they're great personalities and in fiction we'd love to put these little guys in situations, but that's that.

ryan and shane didn't like the content they were making and the company they were working for when they worked at buzzfeed, so they left and took a leap to make their own company. they make the content they wanna make. they make what makes them happy. and they know what works and what doesn't work. i'm speficially talking about editing here - they know what works to leave in a video and what doesn't work to cut out. if they make a lowkey sus joke, they decide to keep it in because the fandom will eat it up. they make that choice because they have autonomy.

if there's one big takeaway from this rant, it's that my biggest constant issue with antis is the infantilising of these grown up men. they can make choices for themselves, stop trying to speak for them. stop putting words in their mouths. stop treating them like your poor little meow meows. if you'd ask me, i'll say that that is fucked up.

honestly i hate to see anti shit next to reylo posts in my dash. Like if u wanna do that get yourself another blog specifically related to that and not post that on your normal one connected to a different fandom. It fucking sucks that i follow people for one thing i like and get hate for another thing i like with that. It’s like i have to chose between two things completely not related to each other.

Please be nice and respect other people’s ships, if not i will instantly unfollow you. period.

Not Here For This Raven Hate

Guess what, fandom? When you don’t tag your character hate properly, I see it on my dash. I see all the anti-Raven baloney going around, and I’ve been trying to ignore it, I really have. I’ve had tags blocked for a while, I unfollowed some people, I’m trying to give some others the benefit of the doubt or trying to stay above the fray, and if it spreads a bit more, I know I’m gonna be missing out on some fan creations in order to keep my dash pleasant. I mean, I get it - we all get frustrated with certain arcs or plot points, and not every character is going to be our favorites. 

But every time you crap all over a character and put that on your dash in a non-meta, accusatory, let-me-just-be-rude-and-mean way, every one of your followers will see it. And even if YOU tag it correctly, the people who reblog it may not. Maybe that matters to you, maybe it doesn’t, but for every person ticked off at a particular character, someone else loves them and that’s their favorite. I don’t expect fandom to be a polite or kind environment, but I do expect people to treat others how THEY would like to be treated. So that means tag your freakin’ character hate so the rest of us can avoid it! And when you put ship names in the tags even though the ship has NOTHING to do with the post, that’s also pretty crappy.  Type in “anti Raven Reyes” in your tags, it’s easy! We’re all looking to have our own experiences in fandom and if you want yours to be about hating Raven - have at it, just do it where other fans can block it and blacklist a consistent tag!

And by the way, I wrote a long AF meta in March about Raven & Forgiveness - you can read it here - but let me say this: Raven is one of the MOST forgiving characters in this show. She forgives Finn for cheating on her. She forgives Bellamy for breaking her radio and they become friends. She forgives Echo for her part in Gina’s death because they’re obviously friends now. She forgives Abby for slapping her across the face in S2. She forgives Shaw for his part in her torture and when he vented the air in space to try and kill her and Murphy. She forgives Murphy for shooting her. She forgives and comes to understand what Clarke did for Finn by mercy-killing him. Raven forgives Abby enough to both save her life in S6 and give her the chance to say goodbye to Kane. Raven presumably forgives Indra for that torture she experienced at the end of Indra’s knife when Lexa was poisoned because they’re seemingly on speaking terms now (probably just a plot point though, let’s be honest. But how dare they not let these two interact again before now!). 

Did Raven & Clarke argue this season? Yep, they did. Both Clarke AND Murphy AND Abby admitted that they did something wrong/something they regret/something they wish they could take back. Raven calls them all out on their actions. Monty has told them all to be good guys, to do better. Why in the world are we angry at Raven for pointing out what these characters are saying about themselves?

Should we be angry that Raven is softer with Murphy, who she has lived every day with for 6 years, who she has consistently had a relationship with where (regardless of shipping), they tell each other the hard truths even when painful, they show vulnerability and understanding towards each other, and she knows how to get through to him? Naw, that makes sense. If you think this ISN’T Raven with Murphy, or him with her, then you haven’t been paying attention. 

But Clarke & Raven? They’re not connected right now, haven’t been since they spent those 6 years apart. Now I like both of them, I expect them to definitely be friends again, and franky yes - I’m frustrated with the writers that they haven’t moved past this and fixed things yet. But I am optimistic that they WILL. You don’t have to be optimistic, though - I don’t expect everyone to share my opinion. But I have no interest in pitting Clarke & Raven against each other in the show or on my dash, even though Raven will always be my favorite. If you want to be angry, guess who is DOING this? The writers, fandom, it’s the writers. The characters are not real no matter how much we love them. 

Anyway, unfollow me if you don’t want to see Raven, Murphy or Murven content on your dash. No hard feelings - everyone gets to pick their fandom experience. But TAG YOUR ANTI POSTS EVEN IF YOU ARE REBLOGGING SOMEONE ELSE! AND QUIT PUTTING SHIP NAMES IN YOUR TAGS IF YOUR POST IS NOT ACTUALLY ABOUT THAT SHIP!

On Anti Memes:

i know everyone is kinda sharing their thoughts about yesterday’s ask about Anti, and it might look like i’m jumping on that bandwagon, but i feel like this has to be said:

Truth be told, i’m 100% okay with Jack doing whatever he wants with the character and development of Anti, and if he feels like taking some time before he pops up again, then i’ll stand behind him and that decision.

But i also know how people have been treating Anti as an over gloried meme and while i have been responsible for this as well, i did so out of a need for creative outlets when theories weren’t piecing themselves together.

During the first Antipoclypse, i was 100 % blind to what was going on because i have the attention span and bravery of a spoon (as well as the limited social media at the time), so i didn’t notice all the hints we were given and “Say Goodbye” came as a genuine surprise to me, and roughly a little bit after that i started writing theories here and really got in touch with the community.

So when Anti started popping up again, i was ready and i loved every minute of it.

and yes, i still tuned in, despite being scared senseless.

So yeah, Anti kinda has some memes around him, but i don’t think they dilute the character Jack and the Community have made..

I mean if popular characters like Spider-man, Captain America, Thor and even more can have memes around them, but still don’t take away from the main value and integrity of said characters, why not Anti?

He’s ruthless and cold and terrifying and that’s AMAZING.
