My stomach has been feeling a little uncomfortable these few days, perhaps due to pre-menstrual bloating or that I've been eating too fast during mealtimes (that's what happens whenever I have quick lunches at the office canteen on busy days with my colleagues.)
I hate this uncomfortable sensation in my stomach because despite having cravings and feeling hungry, I feel full at the same time. Plus, the little bulging tummy makes it hard to wear tight fitting sexy clothes during this time of the month. I bet many of my fellow menstruating female friends couldn't agree more with me.
But fret not! Just follow Dawn Jackson Blatner's tips and you'll feel better. Trust me, it really works!
These ban-the-bloat rules include:
Eating your meals slowly at about 30 minutes per meal.
Chew all of your food until it is almost an applesauce-texture in your mouth.
Avoid carbonated beverages, gum and sugar-free foods, because they cause bloating.
Limit salt and high sodium, processed foods, because salt can make you feel puffy and water logged.
Drink at least nine glasses, or 72 ounces (about 2 litres), of water daily to keep your digestion running smoothly and stay regular.
If you can recall, my very first post I mentioned about Dawn and she's my inspiration to a healthier way of eating and my adopting of the Flexitarian diet.
