OK, I’m back! Here are some highlights from “The Haunting of Lin Manuel Miranda”:

-LMM getting yelled at by the Schuylers’ slaves

-The Schuyler sisters getting dragged ( “you’re calling the Schuyler sisters princesses, those girls didn’t even clean up after themselves!” LMAOOOO)

-LMM musing about his success: “I’ve made state-approved art!”

-Harriet Tubman recounting how a spirit wearing seashells appeared to her and telling her to leave the plantation (somebody in the chat said it could be Yemaya, the Yoruba ocean goddess)

- “There would be no Constitution without Native American thought!”

-LMM repeating that Chernow’s biography of Hamilton is “800 pAgeS!!!”

-Hamilton thanking him for resurrecting his reputation

-Harriet Tubman: “A lot of people like that, you know. Slavery-minding slaves? That don’t wanna be free?”

-Also Harriet: “They honor that racist suffragette”

-Addressing Cherokee (?) tribe’s history of anti-blackness

-Indentured servants: “Our skin color gave us an escape”, “we weren’t the ones being thrown overboard to sharks” “if he was an abolitionist, why didn’t he intervene when his father-in-law sold a whole Negro family?”

- “Help me find my bones!” Gave me chills

-Actress who played Harriet deserves an Oscar, TBH

-LMM’s bumbling, Ambien-induced idiocy, I can’t

-Chernow: “I never believed there would be a day where I’d be living like one of those robber barons.” “That certainly threw off the protestors.” “Are you calling me a liar? I won a Pulitzer Prize!”

-Agent: “I want you to write a musical about Columbus!” “What’s the difference between you shoring up the reputation of Hamilton and Jefferson and those useless women, the Schuylers, and you writing about Columbus? We can charge TWICE as much!”

-The fucking “Great White Way” award

-The ending. Oh my God.

All in all, we were just dragging Hamilton and LMM and it was awesome.

And I didn’t screenshot, but somebody recommended “Historians on Hamilton”, so yeah, that’s definitely on my list.

Overall, this show is fucking iconic, and I can’t wait until it becomes more widely available.
