IH: theres nothing wrong with a male and female being friends, god ichirukis need to stop shoving romance on two friends, male/female friendship is important even though their friendship isnt that great anyway . IH also: omg ichihime is more then friendship, they arent just friends, they love eachother ultimate male/female ship ever. Lmao at ih, so male female friendship is important but ih cant just be friends and people cant just see them as friends? but ichiruki HAS to be just friends.
Yah. But I think the reason why they try to justify that it can’t be anything but romance is because Orihime managed to confess her love for Ichigo. In which case, is just as messed up on it’s own. It’s implying that a hero need to love a girl back because she has been devotedly in-love with him and it would be a waste and out-of-character if she moved on. It’s bad enough that she’s been reduced to a mere love-interest (and I am saying “reduced” because admit it, she has more character in pre-SS and SS arc and has other character pointedly shown she cherishes like Tatsuki, Sora and her other friends). But all of those were ignored/stopped being shown, in favor to magnify how important Ichigo is in her life to the point that it even creates the impression that she cannot function without him (hell, some if not most IH shippers seemed to believe this). If it’s for this reason, I can understand the point others are saying when they label IH as an “unhealthy” relationship.(Though I still can’t see why she’s being labeled as a “bitch” and such. I don’t think she’s bad for Ichigo, but her character takes all the hits in this relationship).
The fact that she’s been stated as a “heroine” all along doesn’t help. In fact, it makes it worse because the idea of “hey, look! It’s a refreshing twist because the hero doesn’t end up with the heroine” will not be a valid argument why this ending makes sense or good.
Also, I’m getting tired of people complaining “why can’t they just be friends?” Like dude, there are a lot of kinds of ships out there (enemies, rivals, strangers, etc). It’s not like I’m saying that a guy and a girl can’t get close to each other without being lovers. But when it comes to making romantic pairs, DEVELOPMENT IS CRUCIAL.
This is why it’s normal that if you see that two characters get along (heck, they don’t even need to get along. They only need “chemistry”), they will be instantly shipped. This is not only applicable between a male and a female, even same genders are being shipped if they have a good blend. An author can easily get out of this just by maneuvering the development - and if she wanted to canonize the other ship, make the other pairing MORE developed than the other. It’s NO BIG DEAL to ship if the writer is skilled. Shippers can easily accept or jump a ship if they find merit in it.
And take note, development is not about the amount of screen time. It’s the amount of moments they shared together. Not just about one character longing for the other, but if you’re going to do it that way, at least show the guy reciprocating it or at least noticing it. Don’t just leave it to audience’s imagination!
Sigh, let me just quote this post when it comes to making ships or romance.
So an author needs to build a relationship the same way one person would construct a building: stablishing a strong foundation on companionship, respect, trust, signifcant moments, and emotional bonding. All of this must come before reaching the status of “romantic interest". In relation to this subject, there’s a trope called “First Girl Wins”, a portion of its description truly fits this criteria:“From a [extradiegetic] point of view, the Law of Conservation of Detail suggests introducing the Love Interest early. An early introduction allows you to get the audience interested in her and rooting for her, gives you space for Character Development, and gives her relationship with her (eventual) partner the most time to develop organically. And with all that said, it’s such a common device that in all likelihood, it sometimes gets played for its own sake.” – tvtropes.org, 2017Notice this isn’t a cliché, this is a literary device to enhance the story. Pairing up two characters without meaningful moments, emotional build-up and development, is the equivalent to lazy writing. Having such elements firmly stablished for two characters and then deciding to go for a different “route”, pretty much wasting a well-developed relationship for the sake of a “weaker” premise, would be the equivalent to bad writing
To put it simply, it’s not the shipper’s fault if they cannot ship something with “weaker” premise, even if the author makes it canon. He could have make the other ship stronger, instead he continued to pamper and encourage the other’s relationship. No wonder it’s being called for bad writing.
To look at it from another point of view though, maybe you can just see that Kubo sees “romance” as something lesser than friendship, being the least important of the other bonds which is why Orihime’s character is treated like that? Story-wise though, that’s not how you write a “love-interest”. It’s always been a custom to have the “love-interest” make a significant impact in the Hero’s life along with the Father, Mentor, Rival, and the Bestfriend (more times, Love-interest is even more significant than the “best-friend”). Reality-wise, I also prioritize family and friends than romance so I can see this point-of-view. But the disparity in values and priorities between these two is appallingly high.
Sometimes, I have to wonder if Kubo actually have an unconscious dislike towards “romance” or certain disfavor of it. Most of the romance in Bleach ended in tragedy, after all.
Saw this from someone post and I realized, the moment that they call IH moment, for me it look like this..
“LOOK AT HER, LOVE HER, FLIRT WITH HER, SEE HER BOOBS, LOOK AT THE BOOBS WINDOW DRESS, COMPLIMENT HER, SHE LIKE YOU, WHY YOU SO OBLIVIOUS, SHE WEAR THAT DRESS JUST FOR YOU”
Yoruichi-san and almost everyone never behaved like this until last arc. Maybe Ori tell the world “hey, I love kurosaki-kun, but he can’t see me, what should I do? ”..
and everyone like “okay, we support you. Hey wear this, we have boobs window dress and he sure like it and don’t worry, we will tell him if he doesn’t realize” .
Everyone seem like need to give a hint to Ichigo. Why must give a hint like that? (Chad, Yoruichi, Reiji)
The stalker will come in 3,2,1…..
how do you feel idk if you heard or not but we now have ih scolding ir artists to either write or draw for their ship. something tells me their the salty ones man can they just leave us alone and enjoy their ship how do you feel on this have you heard about it.
*spits coffee* WHAT!?
The hell? Are they that deprived that they have to go as low as that? I mean, I find it pretty stupid to expect and demand from people to ship what you ship (especially if that is their notp). I know that the IH fandom is one of the most oppressed fandoms out there (especially with the fact that half of the ship is one of the most despised anime characters). Which is why I think their resentment and over-protectiveness of their selves is pretty understandable, it felt like seeing one of those kids who had been in a shunned environment where everyone denies them (they can turn pretty morbid). I actually think the state of the IH fandom right now is partly our fault. We should have been a more understanding fandom so that they don’t turn out like that. But the way they conduct their selves isn’t really helping either.
Well, it’s pretty sad that the world can be cold and daunting place. But my advice for those poor fellow shippers being attacked by this . . . “IH” shippers (honestly, these kinds of shippers give their ships a bad name) is just be understanding.
Don’t be bothered by whatever they said, just understand that they had been through a lot of hardships and people who had already been twisted that way is not someone you can talk through. If they infuriate you, just breath and think of the pitiful state they had been and overcome to become like that. Usually, the anger and the injustice you felt dissipates when you realize that the perpetrator is a hurt squishy thing hiding in a shield of iron and spikes.
loving IchiRuki fandom
The awesome thing about belonging in the IchiRuki fandom is that everything thrown to us by antis are transformed into metas. I would like to thank the antis that provide us with new materials to transform and toast you some more. So when will you realized that you’re digging your own grave whenever you choose to bite us?
And to those people in IRs, especially who’s on constant perils, just know: IR fam got your back. And boyyyyyy do we slay!
It could've been worse.. And here's how Rukihime could've happened.. I ship Ichiruki, Ishihime and Ichihime and Renruki but I prefer the former two ships to the latter.
I see it more as a crackship, so it never really crossed my mind to be actually possible. A crackship not happening cannot comfort me :(
I’m disappointed, but we can only sigh. The verdicts been done, the only thing left is to react. Ichiruki is still the best and most suitable ship for me. (I’m trying to look for other mangas/stories that have similar feels to them right now Dx).
If IHs so insisted on why ichi/hime should be canon because ichigo has to reciprocates inoue's feeling, then i would insisted on why ishihime should be canon because inoue has to reciprocates ishida's feeling. Dare to say ishida has feelings for inoue, it's obvious in my eyes for neptune's sake! Ishida understands her more more more than any other male characters in bleach (except sora, her brother) He's so selfless for her omg i wanna cry for him TTwTT
Ichihime fans fail to see that Kubo is dragging Ori's love because he doesn't want to spoil Ichiruki too much. Because if Ori had moved on early in the story Ichiruki would be too obvious. This would make it boring for the Ichiruki ship since it is too set in stone, and there would be a need for a "rival ship" to prevent this. I believe that the recent chapters are the huge troll times for this ship war.
Eh? No. At this point, I kinda doubt that Kubo is worried about “spoiling” us IR shippers given how much he had done. It’s almost criminal.
Is he planning to drown us with all the shippy feels and moments? If I dare say, he’s more like a great sadist. Torturing his fans at the painful separations and beautiful reunions between these two. Dang, don’t play with our feels!
And sorry, anon, but I got to disagree a bit with you. Orihime’s feelings isn’t there to be mere “rival” for our ship. As some shippers like to say, there’s no competition. (*^-°)v
(Lols, just kidding. Let the shipping war continue. Friendly competition is fun)
Now to the real issue, I’ll put my reply in a separate post.
