All the sexiest people are gonna vote the Tories out of office today.

I think it says something about Tory voters is what finally stopped them voting Tory in 2024, after 14 years of Tory rule.

It wasn't the thousands of deaths that austerity caused, or the millions of lives it made significantly harder.

It wasn't the closure of so many shops and entire high streets throughout the country.

It wasn't the collapse of living standards (the steepest drop since the Napoleonic era).

It wasn't the freeze on public sector pay.

It wasn't the Grenfell Disaster.

It wasn't the thousands of COVID-related deaths that could have been avoided if lockdowns and social distancing had been implemented earlier.

It wasn't the increased need for food banks.

It wasn't the sheer amount of working people needing benefits just to survive.

It wasn't the massive increase in bigotry towards migrants and trans people.

It wasn't the raw sewage being pumped into our rivers, lakes and seas.

It wasn't the year-on-year cuts to local government funding, further increasing the crises placed on health and social care for the most vulnerable.

It wasn't the wholesale privatisation and willful destruction of the NHS, causing heartache and heartbreak to millions.

It wasn't the Tory party dragging itself further and further towards the far-right, leaning into xenophobic and nationalistic rhetoric.

It wasn't the wholesale destruction of civil society.

No.

After all that, what made the Tory voters turn away? It was that Boris Johnson was revealed to be a liar, and then a budget made the housing market wobble and caused interest rates to rise.

It’ll be our turn eventually but we need to keep harassing the Tories - those privileged few who keep children hungry in school holidays.

i love the people i work for, but this government can genuinely suck a dick if they think i’m going to put myself & my own loved ones in danger for minimum wage. all the money the tories drained out of social care by dropping us from the nhs is finally going to bite them in the ass.

we still have nothing at work to stop possible infection ( no medical masks, no aprons, no gloves, no disinfectent gel, no paper towels ), they have ppl with learning disabilities in mixed housing ( i have 2 people that would be high risk of contracting but low risk of dying living with 3 people low risk of contracting but high risk of dying ), and these people won’t self isolate unless we literally lock them in their room which would be a deprivation of liberty act waiting to happen, because of them not canceling events these people have limited awareness of danger but still want to go to gigs/cafes/shopping etc. and we can do nothing but assist them (putting ourselves in danger against our will), if one person in our house contracts it they don’t have the capacity to cover their faces/wash their hands regularly - most will refuse even with us prompting them. we’ve now been told to go into work despite having symptoms (we could be carriers and accidentally kill these people) all because we’re incredibly understaffed.

i repeat, we’re getting paid minimum wage.

We must make a stance:

If my work has meant anything to you over the years, if the way that modern life is going makes you fear for all the things you value, then please get out there on polling day and make your voice heard with a vote against the heartless trampling of everybody safety, dignity and dreams.

Legit praying that Scotland gets independence and rejoins the EU. As it stands the UK is fucked and the whole reason is Brexit. There goes my future of living in Germany since the deadline is 2019 and I'll still be in uni. This is a bullshit agreement, Scotland as a whole voted not to leave but once again we are being fucked over by Westminster. When will people learn that the Tories do not stand for Scotland or lower social classes but only stand for England's elite. Honestly confuses me how any Scottish person could vote Tory when the tories have done nothing for Scotland but ruin it.
