How would the papas and copia react to finding out the reader was the Antichrist? (Like the reader could've already been a sibling of sin then one day Satan shows up and is like 'hey that's my kid btw')
I actually got a second ask like this! So I’ll also be answering this with the second prompt in mind!
Second Prompt: (alrighty, I've had this in mind for a while but my brain isn't big enough to hc alone soo. general reactions from the clergy (papas + its members + ghouls) to meeting the son of satan <3)
Note: The Antichrist is going to be written as a Gender Neutral reader.
Papas Reacting to Discovering the Antichrist
Papa Nihil: Despite never speaking of it and his aloofness, Nihil knew you would eventually arrive at the Ministry. However, due to his age, he thought it would never be in his lifetime. Prophecies are already very vague. But he knew you were due in the next century or so. Nihil is honored to finally have you and be there when you are inducted into the ranks. Nihil’s welcome is warm and surprisingly humbled, which takes many aback given his ego. You and your Father are the ones they all serve, after all! He tells you to ask for whatever your heart desires. The Ministry is here to be your army, haven, and family. Of course, deep down he knows him and his bloodline will be rewarded for their hard work. Nihil is delighted that he will continue to reap the benefits once you reveal yourself!
Papa I: He had known of your coming for years now. Papa has been Lucifer’s strongest prophet and was just waiting for you to finally come to them. It was a bit unnerving when you arrived at the Ministry for the first time and Papa was already waiting for you. It’s even more awkward for you when he bows before he looks into your eyes. “I am honored to be the Guide for The Unholy Child.” You come to find Papa has been personally assigned to be your mentor… whether that is a good or bad thing is up to you. But he is dedicated and ready to help your coming to the world and your inevitable victory. Papa basically teaches you everything about the history of the ministry, magic, and every dark ritual you are entitled to. Under him you will be powerful and ready to face the enemy and convert the masses.
Papa II: Believes that the Antichrist is eventually going to show up in their ranks, but does not necessarily believe it’s you at first. Not that he wants to doubt you or Lucifer, but there have been MANY people who try to make this claim. There have been countless pretenders who join their clergy and try to exploit them for gain. It takes his own communion with Lucifer, his ghouls, and family before he accepts you as the true Antichrist. Papa definitely treats you like an heir to a throne. Satanic Royalty as realized on Earth. Anything you want you get it! Encourages you to start acting like the unblessed creature that you are! Your Father promised you the world in ashes and for you to reap the benefits and sweet fruit of His victory! Papa, thankfully, is still mindful of your space as he is your servant first (shocking I know!) But he is always happy to be a mentor in all ways sinful!
Papa III: The first time you made eye contact he instantly knew. Actually, he was horribly insulted that no one believed him at first! He immediately made his way down to you with a flourish. Papa gave you the most grand bow while he took your hand and gestured to the Cathedral. “Welcome Home, we have been expecting you!” Like his older brother, he treats you like royalty! More so even, like a long lost sibling or cousin! Papa gets a little ahead of himself! Instead of answering questions right away he gives you the longest most detailed tour of the cathedral- including where your grand quarters will be. Papa will apologize and laugh when you finally get him to slow down and explain everything. You knew you were the antichrist but you BARELY knew anything about the Ministry and its mission when it came to you and your Father! Papa takes you to dinner and answers EVERYTHING, then proceeds to make sure you get everything you ever want. Also offers to teach you about your powers if you wish, but he;ll admit he might have to fight his eldest brother for the privilege!
Papa IV/Cardinal Copia: Copia definitely has mixed feelings when you are confirmed to be the Antichrist. He is very arrogant when he wants to be, and actually thought HE HIMSELF was going to be revealed to be the antichrist. So he’s almost disappointed and nervous when the high clergy and ghouls confirm your identity. But luckily, that ego of his only recently developed. Copia, as a cardinal, has been trained to look for you and do your bidding. In fact, he’s almost a little too eager to help you with the coming End of Times! Before that, he makes sure you are comfortable and well looked after. He makes sure you have ghouls of your own, lavish quarters, and a staff to wait on you hand and foot. Copia also almost is annoying with how much he wants to talk and plan with you!
The Clergy as a Whole: Have been preparing for this day for a good century now. There were always prophecies but they were taught to wait patiently! Some don’t believe that you are the Antichrist at first. Which you honestly don’t blame them for, as you would be skeptical if you were in their shoes. It IS hard to believe, and it took you years to accept it yourself! No one is exactly SURE how to act around you, and that’s not out of maliciousness or purposely out casting you. Far from it!
To many it’s like finding out they were living with royalty or a famous movie star this whole time! Many siblings don’t know whether it’s respectful to treat you like a normal member or if they are required to treat you as they would a Papa.
