roman x reader text fic (slow burn) - intro wc: 590 synopsis: you move to LA for college and end up moving in with Chessa. One night, Nate, your roommate's brother brings over some of his friends, among whom is Roman. You and him get off on the wrong foot from the very start, and while in other cases that would've been enough for you to keep your distance, something about him keeps drawing you in. authors note: first fic, kinda nervous. This could pass off as enemies to lovers if you squint. I hope the layout isn't confusing. Also, I took inspiration from multiple fics I have read so if this is similar to something you wrote, I'm sorry! Last thing, english isn't my first language so if you see any grammar mistakes no you didn't :3
House parties, clubbing, staying out late, getting drunk, having fun – all the things you were promised. LA sounded like a dream ever since you were a kid. You put in the work, did the best you could in school, graduated and got into your dream university, thinking all the sleepless nights, stressful exams, due dates, and coursework would be over. Yet, there you sat, three binders staring back at you, and pages of words you struggled to understand.
Your first apartment was on campus upon first moving to LA. The conditions were acceptable, but your dormmate was something out of this world. Another day with her and you’d end up behind bars. So, you moved out. A friend of a friend said she knew someone that was looking for a roommate. It was risky. But you saw an opportunity and you took it.
Chessa took you in right on time, as you had moved out before having an alternative place to live.
Chessa was nice. She was quiet and mostly kept to herself, which was exactly what you needed with all the loudness and agitation of college. But when she did let her personality peek through, usually on late nights when you two would share leftovers and talk for hours, you couldn’t help but fall in love with it. It was a natural charisma you had never seen in anyone before. Yet, you barely knew anything about her.

You walked into your shared apartment, tired as always after a day with early classes and late seminars with the most boring people you could ever imagine. You took off your shoes with a sigh when you heard voices coming from the living room. You suddenly remembered Chessa saying her brother would be stopping by.
You ran your fingers through your hair, not wanting to look a mess in front of complete strangers, and walked into your living room to assess the damage: a man with short, brown hair, and another man with long, wavy, black hair, sat on the couch, while a man with long, bleach-blond hair, put up in a lazy bun, sat on the edge of the couch. They were all laughing about something until you came in. The man with the brown hair spoke first.
“Yo, you’re Chessa’s roommate, right?”
You nodded, startled by the familiarity of the blond man. Although his hair was up, you couldn’t ignore the feeling that you had seen it before.
"I'm Nate. Chessa's brother," he awkwardly introduced himself.
The man with the wavy black hair nodded at you, followed by the blond, who raised his hand in a small, half-assed wave. You could roll your eyes at their forced nonchalance, but before that thought could even cross your mind, you were left winded. 2hollis. The man with the blond hair was 2hollis. You recognized him from all the edits you kept seeing on your feed lately.
The air was sucked out of your lungs as your eyes widened, shamelessly staring at him. He noticed you gawking at him, and simply smiled, as if it meant nothing. The man with the wavy black hair also noticed this strange interaction, and looked at Hollis, smiling, almost in mockery of you.
“I’m gonna leave you guys to it,” you said, filling up the awkward silence.
“You can stay if you want,” Nate said, almost feeling bad for barging into your home like this.
“No it’s ok. I have some stuff to do anyway,” you smiled. “There’s some leftover pizza in the fridge,” you said as you closed the door to your room.
