How would Mini Bruce react to Batman slitting Jason's throat? Maybe not even during the Joker confrontation, maybe Batman was especially pissed the Red Hood had a child working for him and he threw the batarang but it missed and hit Jay's throat?

Oh geez, I think he’d go nuclear. Like, full out Robin King insanity for a hot second.

It’s going to become more apparent the further we progress through the story, but Jason really managed to establish himself as mini!Bruce’s parental figure during the time he spent in that alternate dimension, and a lot of the trust and love between them was established because Jason proved time and time again that he’s a capable fighter. Someone who’s not going down easily (the way his parents did). Someone who won’t ever leave Bruce behind if he can help it.

So, watching an older version of himself seemingly kill the only family he had left? In such a brutal fashion?

Yeah, you can bet this is the one time mini Bruce would go in for the kill… against himself.

And depending on how that goes and how long that rage and hysterical despair lasts… he would drop down by Jason’s side and just— scream. And cry. And try to stop all that blood from leaving Jason because Jason needs that blood please oh god why is there so much blood where are the pearls why can’t he hear the gunshot—

Just some things i think MockingJay would say to the bats. MockingJay to the Bats : id say it was a pleasure to meet you but it really isnt .

MockingJay : I kniw somthing you dont ~ i know somthing you'll never know~

MockingJay: (screams at the top of his lungs immatating Jasons voice) Fuck off Dickwing!

MockingJay to Nightwing: you couldnt even save robin what makes you think you can "save" me?

MockingJay to batman: OH MY GOD YOUR SO BORING!! this is why jason left you.

Meanwhile Red Hood : if anyone hurts him ill make Robins death look like a mercy kill compared to what ill do to them .

Lmao I can’t WAIT to debut Mockingjay. I’m itching to get back to Antithesis of Magic so hard and I love you for sending your thoughts on these because they’re so, SO good and absolutely something mini Bruce would say because he has the Sass gene AND Jason Peter Todd as a role model which — rip 🪦 batfam. Honestly I’m saving all these in my AoM file for later reference/inspiration. The one that absolutely ended me tho was Jason’s “I’ll make Robin’s death look like a mercy kill” because— holy shit. I can see the bats going absolutely ballistic in response to that comment. (While mini Bruce is laughing so hard he almost falls off a gargoyle)

Jason drums his fingers against the steering wheel, a nervous tick, “If it’s still as bad as you think by lunchtime you can call me and I’ll come get you, alright?“

Bruce frowns, “Just like that?“

“Just like that,“ Jason affirms, “As long as you promise me to give it a try.“

Bruce fiddles with the string of pearls tucked into the right pocket of his blazer. “But if I call you’ll pick me up?“

Jason sighs and a second later there’s a hand gently ruffling Bruce’s hair. Not that it matters. Apparently part of his ‘disguise’ are subpar hairstyles and non-tailored suits. Bruce just knows mom would gasp if she— well. Bruce thinks he looks stupid attending school like this, is all.

“Yes. I promise.“

The entrance looks like a gigantic maw, swallowing unsuspecting victim after victim. Everyone so eager to follow through on their own slaughter. Bruce wonders what it says about him that he’d rather face down several thugs than leave the car and submit himself to this torture chamber the government calls an “educational institution“.

“Fine,“ he grouses, releasing the seatbelt with a little more force than necessary, “I’ll see you at lunch.“

I just had a thought, imagine Jason using his Dad Vioce on mini bruce.

He does. All the time.

He uses it when he has to assert bedtime, when Bruce needs to do his homework, when he’s being a little brat….

Jason is absolutely mini Bruce’s dad already, the only people that don’t know that are, coincidentally, Jason and mini Bruce 😭

You answered an ask about Bruce freaking out over Jason getting captured by the bats in your AtM au and I just imagine Bruce curling up in Jay's bed and bawling his eyes out while holding Jason's pillow, crying himself to sleep, then waking up determined to stop at nothing to get his dad back, so he picks himself back up and starts scheming immediately 🦇

Yup! That is a very accurate depiction of what would happen. Mini Bruce also totally sleeps in Jason’s bed sometimes after a bad nightmare, or when Jason takes longer than usual to get back from patrol. 🥺

Jason is a huge anchor point for Bruce’s emotional wellbeing and he has already made much more progress in recovering from his parents’ death than Og!Bruce did in a decade.

And with Jason forcibly taken from him… well, neither Bruce has a good track record with losing parents. And unfortunately for Og!bruce, Mockingjay has no compunctions about threatening to go a little Robin King on them if they don’t give Jason back this instance.
