AHH I JUST SAW THIS ASK!!! I’LL ANSWER RN LOL

azura is probably my oldest oc. she’s gone through many name changes, backstories, but right now is the one i’m the most happiest for so!!! some bullet points

azura is the only known survivor of her family after a war raged through her country. at ten years old, she’s more or less a refugee and does what it takes to survive. steal, con, lie — anything to keep her fed and alive.

she’s one of many people who have Abilities in her universe! ( i still haven’t come up with a name for them yet lol ) , but after the trauma of war she’s cut herself off from her abilities

one of her abilities is being largely sensitive/empathetic to the energy of life around her! and people with her abilities can manipulate that energy for strength, endurance, and can manipulate matter (through telekenesis, manipulating the elements, manipulating the mind, healing, etc.). how these people are viewed are different within each culture

not everyone gets all those abilities or else they’d be waaay overpowered. i’m still working out the magic system angle tbqh

so she literally felt the death of her people and cut herself off from feeling it. ouchies

within azura’s particular culture, it’s viewed as a blessing from the gods and her people train themselves to be warriors/protectors/healers of their people. 

azura herself had training to harness her abilities before the attack on her country/people but not enough to protect herself from enemies and after the trauma all but cut herself off, she’s essentially a normie

her powers reactivate during the inciting incident of reuniting with someone she thought was long dead who she viewed as a brother (ajur) from capturing one of her closest frienemies (farah). it is as complicated as it sounds lol

her personality can be summed up as charming rogue bastard, with a deep heart of gold, obnoxious, arrogant, and uses humor to cope. she’s a very robin hood like character, steals from the rich, gives to the poor, and keeps a little off the top for herself for the trouble lol. her main goal at the start of her series is to save enough money to live the life she wants without worry

to her, money = freedom. what she really wants is freedom

a lot of her emotions is stuffed down to the surface given what she’s been through. she’s… very emotionally constipated and repressed

she’s essentially adopted by another refugee from her country at the age of 13 by a sorta nice middle-aged woman with her own trauma. i don’t have a name for her yet, but she owns one of the buildings of a very large city in one of the neighboring countries and lets azura stay with her rent free. she sees azura as a daughter

and she’s always constantly picking azura up from jail. for her petty thievery crimes and also for getting into fights. azura is a traumatized delinquent who just needs some therapy honestly :/

she does a lot of odd jobs around the city besides stealing, though that’s a MAJOR source of income since she steals from the rich, royalty, and budding corporations. she’s also hired to find people/things even though she’s not a licensed/registered bounty hunter (which is also why she lands in jail a lot, even tho she brings in the bad guys from time to time), and will also do odd jobs working in restaurants and helps her mama figure out within the building.

that’s the major important parts for her i think!!!! she’s so fun and such a comfort character i truly adore her because she’s such a little bastard but she develops into like… a very caring and kind bastard
