Good thing your made a handy guide for yourself about how to draw, cause you are ass at it, you should make more guides about how to actually draw a chin or what amour isn't shaped like
had this in my inbox for while but im kind of obsessed with this. maybe i will make those guides

Hey there, genuine question about your "whitewashing post". Don't worry, I come in peace. My bf is very dark-skinned. Depending on the clothes he wears, his skin looks lighter sometimes. He's also an artist, so he creates music videos. Depending on the lights and environment, he sometimes looks a lot lighter skinned and sometimes he almost looks black (like the shade). Isn't it completely normal, that people's skin looks different depending on the background, etc.? Why would we have to make such a fuss about always having them look the exact same colour in every frame if they don't do that in real life? Doesn't that but a sort of obsession on skin colours, while we should really detach ourselves from their importance? Why focus so much on that instead of on the character herself? Another example: I'm very pale and look tan in some pictures bc the light was different or I was wearing sth white for a change, although I usually wear black, making me look a lot paler than usual. Let me know your thoughts :)
good point and you're right that it's not that serious :) its just a guide for artists who may be struggling to translate character skin tones to different settings/styles in their fanart. im pretty sure the guide discussed colour relativity which is exactly what you're describing above, but its also been like 4 years or something so i dont really remember
I just found your guide on skin tones and was wondering if you have any thoughts on drawing furries with black characteristics?
no thoughts other than to be mindful of stereotypes such as depicting black-coded furries as larger/scarier/animalistic than non-black furries. someone who does furry art might be a better person to ask about any specifics!
