scrunkly blorbos except they’re a nuanced dead person that you need to handle with care like a fragile package
“…the rest is just the same, isn’t it?”
F. Murray Abraham as Antonio Salieri in Amadeus (1984), dir. Miloš Forman

Fun fact! Practically every theatrical adaptation of Mozart’s life has included something gay between these two despite it having nothing to do with actual history.
NEED👏THAT👏MAN👏PREGNANT *SEASON TWO* ROUND 1 POLL 134
TUMBLR! Who's getting pregnant?
Richard “Dick” Grayson (DC)
Antonio Salieri (Mozart l'Opera Rock)
PROPAGANDA:
[Dick]
"Just look at him and tell me you don't want to get him preggo."
[Salieri]
"If you have watched Mozart l'opera Rock, you do not need an explanation. If you still have not seen this masterpiece of emo culture and euromusical culture, let me explain from the start.
Mozart and Salieri are two composers who lived in the 1700s. They probably lived a pretty normal life for their role. We know their works. We know Mozart died from probably sickness. We also know that just some years after their death, metropolitan legends started, and everyone and their mother thinks that Salieri was in an homoerotic relationship with Mozart and out of jealousy killed him.
Aleksandr Sergeevič Puškin in 1830 wrote his stage play in which Salieri, in a jealous moment, poisons Mozart. Rimskij-Korsakov in 1897 staged an Opera about it, Peter Shaffer famously filmed "Amadeus" based on it, then we reach 2008 and it is prime time to make a French musical about it.
And as any French musical, not only is Antonio Salieri now a repressed man who cannot find satisfaction in his so caged life he cultivated for himself, but he is a young and dashing composer with black eyeliner, questionable hair and homoerotic tension with people dressed in leather.
He EMBODIES the gay and repressed archetype.
He has a bisexual BDSM vision listening to a Mozart song for the first time. He has a whole musical number thinking about killing himself for having condemned Mozart to poverty after making him lose his job. A knife is used as a prop.
He is dressed to the neck in black velvet and ruffles, choking both in his collar and from the hands of the ghost of bisexuality (canon scene that happens in there). In the Italian version, he is forced to be Mozart's best man at his wedding, and godfather of his son, watching him and his happy heterosexual life.
And what does tumblr love to do to miserable fashionable men whom try to kill their situationship, but end up singing a love song with them before they die, talking about seeing one another in their afterlife? Of course make him pregnant.
But this is not just about giving him the pain of pregnancy and childbirth, to culminate his sufferance. This is about adding to the mythos.
This is about taking a character who is by now considered fixed in the story as a killer and make him a lover. This is about owning up to the yaoism that has been built in the last two hundred years and bringing it to the next logical consequence. The toxicism of killing the sun because watching him hurt your eyes is by now too seen, too classic, the depth to desperation and darkness where you picture a happy ending is not enough, he NEEDS a physical representation of his love and sin, he needs to feel a baby kick his organs and remind him that Mozart will never be back, that he is alone and he is a victim of his victory. He needs to question himself on what to do with this new life, if to also kill it or if to keep it alive, if to make them grow up the genius they surely inherited or if to close them forever out of others eyes to never make them fall as the other did.
And of course, he needs to suffer the pain of pregnancy and childbirth, because he was made for that.
P.S. Everyone needs to watch "Le Bien qui Fait Mal" and "Assasymphonie" yesterday."
