Anton Vasilios {Birthday Drabble}
Anton had been up for a couple hours now. He was watching the dusk turn to dawn as his mother walked into his room. She started fussing about his birthday and what he'd wear,who'd attend his party, how he'd have to behave, and what would be happening. He had once mentioned that he wanted a totally normal party with his firends doing normal party things, but his parents didn't like the idea to much, so he never said anything more about it to them. He let her hurry around, making mental note of what she wanted. She picked out his outfit and laid it out of his desk before heading out to finish other things. He stood and walked over to his desk. She had picked out one of his fanciest suits. He sighed. What he would give just to be able to wear a t-shirt and jeans to the party. He quietly got dressed in just that, a t-shirt and jeans. Then he snuck out of the house while his parents were distracted. Anton grabbed his skate board and took off. He was going to hang out at the skate park for a bit, before having to go through the party. After a few hours at the skate park, Anton returned home. He snuck back upstairs to his room. He hid his skate board before he undressed and jumped in the shower. He showered quickly and got out just as there was a knock on his door.
"Anton?" his mother called. "Get dressed and head down stairs quickly. Everyone's arriving."
"Okay, mom. I'll be down soon." he called.
Anton sighed and shook his head. People were arriving already? He sighed again and pinched the bridge of his nose. Then he grabbed his suit and got dressed quickly. He walked out of his room and down the stairs. The down stairs was filled with people, mostly his parents friends. There were some kids around his age too, but he wasn't really close to them. Anton entered the main room and he started smiling and greeting people. It was a formal party. Like what his parents did at Christmas, or something. The party went on well into the night. Eventually, Anton was allowed to leave, and go to his room. He was gonna let his parents enjoy the party a little more. Once in his room, he took off his suit and put his pj's back on. Anton sat in his room reading for a couple hours before his mother came in.
"Sweetheart, why'd you leave so early? Is everything alright?" she asked him, concern covering her face.
Anton looked up from his book and smiled at her. "I'm fine.
Just a little tired. You and dad can go and enjoy yourselves a little more. Have fun."
She smiled at him. "Alright, honey. Have a good sleep."
He nods. "You got it, mom."
Her smile got a little bigger. She nodded. Then she closed the door and headed back down stairs. Anton sighed as he returned to his book. A small, sincere smile was on his face. It was a pretty good birthday after all.
