Really agree - rather annoyingly on the "elaborate" schedule part they want to minimise costs on the marketing - minimising costs is Lionsgate's MO after all anyway. What they should have done in the first place - work out a better release schedule for the promo material. Jurassic World seems most likely option given all the info we know and I've heard/tracked down....
...but rather unfortunately they are apparently (according to OLTMJ, take this with grain of salt) happy with last year's campaign and used same framework to plan out this year - and when they mention the teaser release plan will be "something not done traditionally" makes me think it might not even come with JW. also idk why people are so hung up on EW, not even all blockbusters promote through there...when you don't get an Empire cover or feature then we have a problem.
See that’s so frustrating cause like okay you wanna cut back on a $100 million budget to promote a movie? cool! totally makes sense business-wise! Except then make sure the god damn money and promo you DO use is effective as shit!! I just DO NOT understand how they can say they’re happy with last year’s promo - like do they not care/listen to fan feedback AT ALL???!? Although I don’t really trust much (see: anything) from OLTMJ tho haha
That is just so frustrating if they’re planning the same campaign especially timeframe wise as last year for this film. Like no teaser until comic con? No full trailer until Sept? FUCKKKKK THAT!!!

And yah at this point I could give or take an EW cover but it would be nice to get one devoted to the franchise’s end and actually read an interview with the cast talking about it all coming to a close
God I want to get a fan campaign going to somehow make sure Lionsgate knows how much we hate them and their promo lol
