canonizing goncharov in antverse now
I like to think a lot about mythology and interpret some of it in my own way. With that being said, I wanted to talk about mermaids I like to think that Mermaids travel in pods instead of living in giant kingdoms, tight-knit family groups that talk to each others with clicking and whistling. Mermaids can still talk to humans, but they'd have to be taught human language. I'd also like to think that mermaids are a transitional species to humans, making them living fossils in the modern year. There's been stories of mermaids following around small fishing boats and snatching fish right out of coolers when the fishermen have their backs turned, so mermaids are well known (and also well-known nuisances). Maybe some pods ride hippocampus for easier travel?
thinking about how king dredmor was originally based on emperor belos back when season 1 first finished up... and they both got development with season 2 and i was like "huh! interesting, they have even more parallels!" and then belos was an asshole
