Happy #Music Mondays! In case you missed it, I'm still working on the Spotify Wrapped Prompt game. So feel free to send in another if you'd like to see more vignettes. I encourage other writers/artists to try it (use a random playlist if you don't do Spotify Wrapped!) as it's a great way to branch out, get out of a slump, or try a new style or mood.

For your semi-regularly scheduled Music Monday: Share a song that gets you in a wintery or holiday mood. I'm sure you're seeing plenty of fandom exchanges (Inu Secret Santa, for example) and prompt lists (Jana has some going!) gearing up. Anything that makes you think of this time of year. Or maybe a song you associate with a piece you've seen in the past!

@andwegogreen sorry this took me literally forever to answer but thank you so much for asking these! it was so fun to think about my answers!

3. What do you find unique or interesting in fics?

I really like fics with good, unique, strong sense voice. Like, I love when characters talk and think in weird sounding ways because I think that's accurate! I know there are people who prefer like clarity and conciseness over like too much style but I'd definitely go the other way haha.

Another one of my favorite things that I think is really special and amazing is when someone can write a back and forth, like two lines of dialogue, that is so painful and perfect it makes my chest physically hurt.

One of my fave examples is from this Captive Prince fic I'm sure everyone's read:

"You're not mine, you know," Laurent told him. "You can go bed whomever you want."

"No, you're not mine," Damen corrected. "There's a difference."

And this, from this really really good hrpf amnesia fic:

His hands are so fucking cold. Matthew sticks them under his armpits. “You think I talk about team stuff to everybody? Shit, man, I think I was sleeping in one of your shirts back home and I want to touch you all the fucking time, it’s been driving me crazy since I got here. And I don’t know exactly what it was, before I lost my memory, but—I like you. Now. This me.”

“Well you like me, that’s nice,” Leon says. “I’m in love with you, so.”

And then okay, this is three lines but it's so perfect and sad and in character, obviously from @baking-soda 's perfect trauma au

“You can’t sleep on the couch,” Max says. They’re at the door to Daniel’s bedroom. Drunk on sleep, on touch; Max doesn’t stop himself. “The bed’s big enough.”

Daniel swallows and Max tracks the movement in his throat. “That’s not a great idea,” he says, his voice rough.

“Why, do you snore?” Max asks, walking into the bedroom. There’s a long pause, Max feeling small and stupid.

14. What's your ideal fic/place/time to read fic - perfect/dream fic conditions?

I really like when I start a really really good long fic like on a Saturday night, staying up really late because it's so good and engaging I'm not even tired. Waking up line five hours later and immediately picking back up where I eventually left off and fell asleep and spending the day finishing it, lying in bed and then taking a break for lunch etc. Driving to work the next morning still thinking about it. Idk it's just nice to like, live in the world of a fic for a while I think.

Also if I'm reading a fic at the same time as some of my friends I love sending lines I love to them so we can talk about how good they are.

15. Do you have to be in the fandom before you read the fics from it, or do you find fandoms from reading fics for it?

I guess that I got into hrpf and f1rpf from reading fics, so the second one apparently haha. But I definitely like, couldn't really be in a fandom where the fics were good but the like canon narrative/characters didn't really interest too, so that's like step two.
